Lockheed Martin THAAD Systems Engineer Manager in Sunnyvale, California

Description: Come join our amazing people on the THAAD program. You will be working with a diverse team in fielding a highly mobile defense system providing the critical capability to shoot a missile with a missile enabling the U.S. military to effectively and reliably defend the U.S. and allied assets around the world.

Manage the high-performing Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) System Integration Lab (SIL), which reports to the THAAD Weapon System Integration & Test (WSIT) Senior Manager.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, leading:

-in the planning, definition, and performance of test planning, procedure development, test execution, and data analysis.

-development & maintenance of SIL Engagement Manager simulation software

-development and maintenance of the SIL HWIL infrastructure

Additionally, the role is responsible for:

-ensuring HWIL lines are able to support fielded & development configurations, component testing requests, as well IRAD projects

-providing support to the FMS labs in Huntsville, AL

-working with the Customer, Program Management and THAAD component teams to ensure proper planning, execution, integration and testing of the weapon system

-ensuring the right expertise is identified and made available to resolve critical program technical issues

-staffing, performance assessments, career development, identify/provide training opportunities

-maintaining high morale and fostering an inclusive/collaborative work environment

-give tours to LM/GOVT leadership

The position also involves implementation of the Full-

Spectrum Leadership principles and execution of functional management responsibilities.

Basic Qualifications:

- Experience working in a Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL), development, or lab environment

- Experience with Microsoft suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Word)

- US Citizenship and the ability to acquire/maintain a DoD clearance.

Desired Skills:

- Ability to communicate effectively with leadership and customer

- Experience across multiple systems engineering disciplines

- Experience chairing/presenting at technical reviews and boards

- Excellent oral and written communication skills

- Ability to effectively communicate technical status and issues internally to program leadership, technical leadership and functional leadership, as well as externally to the customer.

- BS degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Washington or Washington DC is $118,100 - $226,400. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $135,800 - $256,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
