Pfizer Team Lead, R2R Strategic Operations in Tampa, Florida

Pfizer's GBS Financial Services (GBS FS) organization delivers best-in-class accounting, finance and compliance operations globally for the Pfizer enterprise. The GBS FS organization is a high performing team comprised of more than 1300 colleagues located in 8 sites around the world, in addition to an outsourced workforce of 200 people.

The industry-leading value proposition is to centralize, standardize and optimize complex processes and in delivering a quality service at a reasonable cost with a compliance mindset. The scope of services provided by the GBS FS organization include Record to Report processes: US Accounting, Corporate Accounting, Statutory Reporting, Financial Reporting, the Intercompany Center of Excellence (CoE), Financial Master Data Governance, Risk Management / Compliance, Capital CoE, Inventory CoE and Balance Sheet CoE; Transaction Processing in Invoice to Pay, Indirect Tax, Order to Cash, Credit Risk and Gross to Net, Manufacturing Finance support; Operational Transfer Pricing CoE; Treasury Operations CoE, and MAPP Administration CoE.

The R2R Strategic Operations Team Lead will be part of a team that supports cross functional projects and innovation activities across GBS FS and Pfizer wide. This role will have a focus on Mergers & Acquisitions and will have responsibility for leading select acquisition pre-close and integration activities in order to complete critical deliverables including coordination of R2R system and process cutovers. In addition, this position will support various Global R2R initiatives, and work cross functionally across multiple R2R teams.

Role Responsibilities

  • Support acquisition pre-close and Day1 readiness activities.

  • Lead specific R2R acquisition workstream integration activities such as system and financial cutovers for balance sheet reconciliations, general ledger, fixed assets, royalties, etc.

  • Coordinate knowledge transfer activities.

  • Coordinate stakeholder and team communications and meetings.

  • Provide progress updates and recommended action plans.

  • Lead Operational Transformation activities by demonstrating strategic planning, anticipating functional requirements and proposing solutions.

  • Maintain complete and accurate standard operating procedures and SOX related internal control documentation.

  • Research technical and operational accounting guidance and determine relevant application.

  • Review and analyze financial data and reports ensuring completeness and accuracy.

  • Clearly and consistently establish priorities and manages workload, deliverables and competing priorities.

  • Contribute significantly to the completion of project milestones.

  • Consistently identify process improvement opportunities including the timely implementation of solutions.

  • Lead assigned projects and other initiatives in addition to existing role and responsibility.

  • Actively (formally and informally) mentor key colleagues.

  • Demonstrate ability to effectively deal with conflict and confrontation (e.g. managerial courage).

  • Be recognized as Pfizer subject matter expert and process owner for key accounting activities.

  • Be able to accept occasional travel for meetings and projects.

  • Engage directly with customers and business partners on complex activities and deliverables; maintain effective relationships with business partners.

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

Advanced accounting and financial reporting skills that include the following:

  • Demonstrated advanced technical US GAAP and financial reporting knowledge and experience.

  • Advanced SAP and HFM skills preferred.

  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.

  • Excellent oral, written, and overall communication skills.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Ability to informally and formally develop and influence colleagues through coaching/mentoring.

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and solve problems in an unstructured environment.

  • Strong business acumen and professionalism with the ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and operations colleagues in all applicable Pfizer Finance and business functional areas.

  • Ability to perform and deliver in areas involving ambiguity.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance

  • CPA (or equivalent international certification)

  • 5+ years of relevant functional accounting or finance experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree

  • Public accounting experience

  • Key ERP and edge system experience

Other Job Details

  • Work Location Assignment:Must be able to work from Pfizer Tampa location 2 -3 days per week, or as needed by the business.
