The Opportunity

This Technician V, R&D works out of our Temecula, CA location in the Abbott Vascular Division. Abbott Vascular provides innovative, minimally invasive, and cost-effective products for treatment of vascular disease.

What You’ll Work On

The Technician V, R&D applies subject matter knowledge to assist and support the designing of new products and processes and improving and maintaining existing products.

• Under limited supervision assist in the design analysis on components and/or assemblies to assist in the development process by ensuring designs are cost efficient, manufacturable, and reliable.

• Assists in the planning, design, and development of test requirements and any special testing equipment/apparatus to establish product and/or customer specifications.

• Builds or assembles prototype materials, components, subassemblies and assemblies.

• Constructs, operates, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, maintains and tests equipment, systems or products.

• Supports performance testing of prototypes accordingly to verify product reliability and performance requirements.

• Assists in the development of engineering documentation for new products or product changes.

• Builds or assembles prototype materials, components, subassemblies and assemblies.

• May assist in the transfer of technology and/or contribute in cross-functional discussions regarding device performanceallegations.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED plus an equivalent combination of education and work experience

• a minimum of 2 years related work experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Associates Degree

• A minimum of 8 yrs of related work experience

• Experience in the following areas strongly preferred, Catheter Design and Catheter processing development. Resorbable scaffold (polymer) processing development

• SolidWorks skills preferred

• Statistical Software knowledge

The base pay for this position is $27.65 – $55.35 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
