The Opportunity
This Technician V, R&D works out of our Temecula, CA location in the Abbott Vascular Division. Abbott Vascular provides innovative, minimally invasive, and cost-effective products for treatment of vascular disease.
What You’ll Work On
The Technician V, R&D applies subject matter knowledge to assist and support the designing of new products and processes and improving and maintaining existing products.
Under limited supervision assist in the design analysis on components and/or assemblies to assist in the development process by ensuring designs are cost efficient, manufacturable, and reliable.
Assists in the planning, design, and development of test requirements and any special testing equipment/apparatus to establish product and/or customer specifications.
Builds or assembles prototype materials, components, subassemblies and assemblies.
Constructs, operates, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, maintains and tests equipment, systems or products.
Supports performance testing of prototypes accordingly to verify product reliability and performance requirements.
Assists in the development of engineering documentation for new products or product changes.
Builds or assembles prototype materials, components, subassemblies and assemblies.
May assist in the transfer of technology and/or contribute in cross-functional discussions regarding device performanceallegations.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED plus an equivalent combination of education and work experience
a minimum of 2 years related work experience
Preferred Qualifications
Associates Degree
A minimum of 8 yrs of related work experience
Experience in the following areas strongly preferred, Catheter Design and Catheter processing development. Resorbable scaffold (polymer) processing development
SolidWorks skills preferred
Statistical Software knowledge

The base pay for this position is $27.65 – $55.35 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
