Legal Internship Description:

During the course of the Entergy Summer Internship Program, 1L Students will gain valuable legal experience and can expect to undertake a broad-range of responsibilities throughout both Corporate & Securities Legal and Tax Services Departments, such responsibilities to include researching legal issues, assisting with drafting transactional documents, attending client meetings and collaborating with internal teams on cross-group projects.

Job Tasks:

• Prepares legal drafts by assembling and organizing information for legal forms and documents, including confidentiality agreements, supply agreements, power purchase agreements, build-own-transfer agreements, correspondence and similar documents.

• Researches various tax matters by studying laws, statutes, regulations, court opinions, including precedents and reasoning with special focus on renewable tax credits and similar tax incentives.

• Provides status reports to supervising attorney on a weekly basis.

• Meets with team members and others as requested from time to time.

Legal Intern Skills and Qualifications:

• GPA: 3.0 or higher.

• Legal research and writing skills.

• Strong organizational skills.

• Ability to communicate effectively.

• Office administrative experience and skills, word processing and general computer skills.

• Interest or experience in renewable energy.

Work Schedule:

Work is hybrid with a minimum of 4 days a week at the Woodlands office. Work week is Monday through Friday with a workday starting at 9 a.m. and ending at 5 p.m.
