Job Summary/Purpose
The Supervisor, Project Controls provides oversight, support and coaching to cost analysts performing analysis of budgets and forecasts related to New Generation projects in all stages of development or execution. Oversight of the creation and maintenance of financial and business models. Oversight of compilation of performance information related to monthly project cost for inclusion in reports. Provides cost analytical expertise to support project and portfolio management.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Provides training, oversight, support and coaching to analysts.
Oversight of the development and maintenance of cost models and related scenario analysis.
Oversight of monthly present estimate (PE) process.
Provides training & guidance in the analysis of cost and schedule impacts of project scope changes and trends. Validates presentations of numerical analysis.
Interfaces with internal and external project team (s) as necessary for cost control monitoring, analysis, and reporting. Provides guidance for accurate financial, cost reporting, trending analysis and recommends corrective actions.
Provides Cost Management support through identification of gaps and opportunities. Recommends development or modification of cost engineering data standards.
Utilizes COGNOS , POWER BI, M aximo , and Power Plan to perform analyses, interpret the output and develop presentations from the data set (where applicable).
Participates in identification, development and implementation of strategic initiatives to improve cost control practices in support of Path to Premiere.
Demonstrates very good documentation, technical writing, and organization skills to effectively control documents availability and readiness for ROD requirements, prudency review, deposition hearings, filing for PSC, Change Order Process and or other legal requirements. Displays a solid understanding of Document Mgmt. Skill.
Demonstrate commitment to safety through active participation in safety meetings, safety inspections and field observations where applicable.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum education required of the position
B.S. in Finance, Accounting, Project Management, Construction Management or applicable course of study or equivalent work experience.
Desired: MBA or other advanced degree.
Minimum experience required of the position
8-10 years professional experience in related field.
Desired: Capital Projects Development & execution experience with mega new generation projects.
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position
Capital Project development and execution cost analysis experience with an owner or contractor.
Knowledge of Entergy financial and accounting systems and processes, including proficiency in Cognos, Power BI, Maximo and Power Plan
Understanding of commercial agreements and contracting strategies
Understanding of cost, schedule and risk alignment
Analytical skill set with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Understanding of project schedule impact on cost forecasting and integration of schedule in cost
Expertise in training cost analysts
Desired: Working knowledge of the regulatory agencies for which the projects will be governed. These include NERC/MISO/FERC/Public Service Commission/City Council, etc. where applicable.
Any certificates, licenses, etc. required of the position
