For your awareness, DuPont has announced their intent to merge Nutrition and Biosciences (N&B) business, which you are joining, with International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF) company with an anticipated closing date in the first quarter of 2021. At closing, you will become an employee of the newly merged company.
The Tank Farm Operator reports to the Production Manager and are responsible for directing the rail and truck activities at the Tank Farm. This position will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Responsiblefor directing rail switch crews to see that cars are spotted as needed.
Responsiblefor directing truck traffic in the tank farm area.
Responsiblefor operating conditions at the tank farm and maintaining pumpingequipment in good condition.
Understandsand follows plant quality, environmental, health, safety policies and isaware of the benefits associated with compliance.
Maintain aworking telephone with an answering machine. Communicate via Outlook, SAP,radio, and other standard means
Monitors allequipment in the tank farm area. This includes rail cars, storagetanks, pumps, lines, rail indexer, rail gates and pits.
Monitors andflushes NGX system.
Make allnecessary process adjustments to the tank farm area. Reportnecessary information to the area supervisor and/or lead operator.
Put heat onrail cars as directed, monitor temperatures.
Offload railcars as necessary. Reload as necessary, sample as necessary.
Offloadtrucks as necessary. Reload as necessary, sample as necessary.
Monitorswitch crew. Maintain control of DuPont track using switch stopsign, gates, and/or warning lights and horns.
Reportnumbers of railcars and trucks arriving and to be shipped to MaterialPlanner.
Samplestorage tanks at necessary frequency.
Unload salt,caustic, and acid trucks.
Assist withfilter press cleaning as needed.
Performnecessary housekeeping in the tank farm area.
Prepareequipment for maintenance and/or contractors.
Monitormaintenance and/or contractors if needed.
The following are required:
2+ years ofexperience in a manufacturing, industrial, warehouse, chemical operations,military, or related role OR a recent graduate with a 2-year degree orhigher in a related field
Able to workindependently and with minimal direction
Basiccomputer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Goodcommunication skills and the ability to follow directions
Willing andable to routinely lift up to 25kg (approx. 55 lbs.)
Willing andable to work a 12-hour rotating shift, including weekends and holidays asrequired
Willing andable to work overtime, sometimes on short notice, as required
Willing andable to climb, stoop, squat, and perform work in confined areas anddifficult to reach conditions
Willing andable to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required (includingbut not limited to uniform, hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection,steel toed shoes)

The following are preferred:
2+ years ofexperience in a chemical process operations role
Previousexperience utilizing an ERP system and/or SAP
