Johnson & Johnson Health Care Systems Inc., of the Johnson & Johnson family of companies, is recruiting for a Director, Strategic Account Management Strategy & Operations position. The geographic preference for this position is Titusville, NJ, but we are flexible to other locations for this opportunity, with travel to Titusville as business needs require.

Johnson & Johnson Health Care Systems Inc. (JJHCS) provides contracting, supply chain, business services, and strategic solutions to customers and commercial intermediaries of U.S.-based Johnson & Johnson companies, including hospital systems, health plans, distributors, wholesalers, purchasing organizations, government payer programs, and government healthcare institutions in the U.S. JJHCS also engages with customers to provide streamlined supply chain services for our products that seamlessly integrate with customer operations, address shared evolving market challenges to value-based care, and develop innovative solutions that improve patient care and access.

The Director, Strategic Account Management Strategy & Operations is a critical member of the Strategic Account Management team, the organization within SCG that leads strategic relationships with Payers, Health Systems and Emerging Intermediaries. This role will have significant interaction and coordination across both the Payer and Institutional customer teams within Strategic Account Management, as well as internal business partners including Commercial Excellence, Information Technology, Franchise Marketing Teams, and other Strategic Customer Group teams across the Janssen portfolio. In their role, they will work to ensure the strategic and operational excellence of the Account and Health System teams, with a particular focus on communication and coordination, development, training, deal coordination, analytics and insight excellence and launch planning. The Director, Strategic Account Management Strategy & Operations reports to Senior Director, Strategic Account Management Strategy & Operations.

The Director, Strategic Account Management Strategy and Operations will:

  • Lead process improvement initiatives for Strategic Account Management to improve operational efficiency of SAM. Collaborate with Commercial Excellence & Information Technology to develop and implement solutions to drive efficiency for SAM.

  • Lead new product launch and market event planning initiatives for Strategic Account Management in close collaboration with SAM leadership, SCG Market Access Marketing, SCG Pricing/Contracting and Franchise Marketing.

  • Collaborate with SCG Field Directors, Market Access Marketing and Brand Marketing to understand franchise strategy and translate into SCG access goal development, access reporting and performance measurement.

  • Lead initiatives with Commercial Excellence and Information Technology to develop and improve access performance dashboards, solutions and reporting to meet evolving needs of Strategic Account Management.

  • Provide access performance updates to SCG Account Management leadership, in conjunction with Commercial Excellence.

  • Partner with SAM leadership and Franchise Marketing on major market events requiring SAM execution.

  • Co-manage SAM budget on behalf of the VP of Account Management and develop yearly SAM strategic plan and operational budget

  • Collaborate with SCG and Franchise Marketing & SCG Learning & Development to develop and execute critical team meetings throughout the year including SCG National Meeting, SCG POA meetings, SAM team development meetings & new product launch meetings.

  • Partner with Health Care Compliance and Law Department to ensure compliant approach to all projects and initiatives and coordinate any ad hoc related efforts across the team

  • Collaborate with SAM Leadership, SCG Marketing and Franchise Marketing on market access strategy development and execution of priority initiatives for Payers and Health Systems, with dedication to particular Op Co's

  • Synthesize market insights across Payer and Institutional customer segments and make strategic recommendations to the SAM Leadership Team as appropriate

  • Partner with SCG Account Directors and to identify success criteria for each channel and dashboard against these criteria

  • Anticipate Account Team needs in response to dynamic access marketplace, and build appropriate operational, promotional, and training plans to successfully respond to these changing dynamics

  • Lead prioritized strategic projects sponsored by the SCG President and/or SAM VP, often requiring chairing standing meetings, crafting measurement systems, and reporting on progress and performance, and driving forward tactics and/or projects in service of these initiatives

Qualifications

Experience & Skills:

  • BA/BS degree required, advanced degree preferred.

  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant business experience is required.

  • Pharmaceutical experience in multi-disciplinary roles within account management and across multi channels is preferred (sales, marketing, payer, payer analytics, account management, account planning, etc.)

  • In-depth experience in the payer channel in one or more of the following is required (payer account management, payer analytics, payer marketing, payer pricing/contracting, or another related payer experience).

  • Successful track record of people leadership within a high performing team is preferred.

  • Comfort in a highly matrixed environment and ability to drive progress therein is required.

  • Strong communication skills are required.

  • Comfort with business analytics and identification of insights.

  • Crafting and driving business cases forward.

  • Project Management skills.

  • Comfort with budget management and analysis.

This position is based in Titusville, NJ, but we are flexible to other locations for this opportunity, with travel to Titusville as business needs require.
