Cardinal Health Design Operations Manager in Topeka, Kansas

We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Design Operations Leader to drive operational excellence within our User Experience (UX) organization. This role will play a critical part in optimizing design processes, fostering collaboration, and aligning the team’s work with business objectives. The ideal candidate is an expert in design operations and cross-functional coordination, with a strong ability to design a strategy and turn the strategy into actionable outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Operational Strategy: Develop and implement scalable processes, tools, Design System and frameworks to support the UX team’s effectiveness and delivery.

  • Program Management: Lead the planning and execution of key design initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals and timelines.

  • Process Optimization: Streamline workflows to reduce friction and improve efficiency across research, design, and delivery phases.

  • Resource Planning: Collaborate with leadership to forecast resource needs, manage budgets, and support hiring efforts.

  • Collaboration Enablement: Facilitate cross-functional alignment between UX, Product, Engineering, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless execution.

  • Governance: Establish quality standards, documentation, and reporting mechanisms for consistent design outputs and outcomes.

  • Team Development: Advocate for the team’s growth and well-being by creating opportunities for professional development and fostering a positive team culture.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in design operations, program management, or a similar role within a UX or design organization.

  • Strong understanding of UX design processes, tools, and best practices.

  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with a track record of delivering complex initiatives.

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across all organizational levels.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and balance strategic vision with tactical execution.

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and design systems strongly preferred.

  • Experience in B2B or ecommerce industries strongly preferred.

Anticipated salary range: $103,500 - $155,295
