As a Mechanical Product Design Engineer at MFC, you will join one of the largest networks of engineering professionals, implementing cutting edge technologies on both existing and new development platforms. You will be helping us solve the world’s most difficult challenges supporting such wide-ranging domain areas such as aircraft flight command and control, air traffic control, health care, and homeland defense. What You Will Be Doing

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control is seeking an experienced product engineer to support the Air Dominance Program as the Lead Material Review Board Engineer at the Troy, AL production facility. Must have ability to review and understand engineering requirements, specifications and drawings, identify and evaluate hardware discrepancies, test failures, and provide engineering dispositions for those discrepancies determined to be defects in a fast-paced production environment.

Candidate will be required to:

• Participate as a key member in Material Review Board (MRB) which includes dispositioning non-conforming hardware, identifying hardware containment requirements, identifying appropriate root cause and corrective action is taken to prevent recurrence.

• Coordination effort with the IPT team, suppliers, quality engineering, global supply chain, mechanical designers, electronic packaging engineers, and structural/thermal/material analysts

• Position requires a full commitment to support overtime, odd shifts (as required), and on-call requirements due to production environment.

• Some travel required.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited university.

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials selection, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.

• Experience in a production support role, working non-conformance and hardware dispositions

• Previous Material Review Board (MRB) authority and/or experience

• Experience with electromechanical hardware (PWA, PWB, CCA) and requirements of flight hardware

• Good communications skills with team members and hands-on experience required.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Desired Skills:

• Experience working with and interpreting quality standards/methods and manufacturing work instructions

• Experience or familiarity with Agile (JIRA) workflow process

• Familiar with root cause / corrective action failure investigations

• Familiarity with production lines and production hardware

• Experience troubleshooting defective deliverable hardware

• Have experience with ASME Y14.5 GD&T, hardware fabrication, installation and assembly techniques, tolerance analysis, in addition to experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, documents, parts lists, and specifications.

• Have experience in CREO, Windchill PLM, and Quality note disposition.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
