THE WORK

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineering Developer/Manager with a strong background in mobile application development to lead our global sustainment software development and support team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology, a deep understanding of mobile platforms (iOS, Android), and the ability to manage and mentor a team of developers. This role combines hands-on development with managerial responsibilities, requiring a balance of technical expertise and leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Management:

Lead and manage a team of software developers, providing mentorship, guidance, and career development opportunities.

Oversee the daily activities of the team, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.

Conduct regular performance reviews, set goals, and support the professional growth of team members.

Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment, encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous learning.

Technical Leadership:

Architect, design, and develop web applications as well as mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.

Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure our web and mobile applications remain cutting-edge.

Review and improve existing codebases, promoting best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, UX/UI designers, and backend engineers, to deliver high-quality products.

Define and enforce coding standards, version control practices, and continuous integration/deployment processes.

Project Management:

Work closely with product managers to understand requirements, define project scopes, and create detailed project plans.

Track and report on project progress, identifying potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies.

Ensure that all projects align with business goals and deliver value to users.

Stakeholder Communication:

Act as the primary point of contact for web & mobile application projects, communicating with stakeholders at all levels.

Provide regular updates on project status, team performance, and technical challenges to upper management.

Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of applications with other systems and platforms.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

15+ years of experience in software development, 10 years of mobile development experience with at least 2+ years in a leadership or management role.

Desired Skills:

Proven experience in developing and managing mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms.

Strong knowledge of mobile frameworks (e.g., React Native, Flutter) and native development (Swift, Kotlin, Java).

Experience with cloud services, RESTful APIs, and backend integration.

Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Ability to Work Remotely: Full-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $142,100 - $267,600. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

This position is incentive plan eligible.

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Washington or Washington DC is $123,500 - $236,800 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
