As a Business Manager, you will lead the Factory Managed Process (FMP), supporting three different products, Electric Rope Shovels, Draglines, and Hydraulic Mining Shovels. This is a global role with a team of 8 direct reports. It is a hybrid commercial support and execution role - a great balance of customer/dealer facing and execution with factories and suppliers.

What you will do:

  • Develop, implement, and administer all aspects related to pricing, quoting, and overall project management.

  • Achieve business plan for FMP (sales, Operating Profit After Capital Charge (OPAAC), quote volume, response time).

  • Increase process excellence through the FMP organization.

  • Identify and analyze the organization's strengths and weaknesses and respond to opportunities in the sales and operations environment.

  • This position is a key coordination point between our matrix partners and a point to manage key projects communication and events across the regions.

  • Facilitate and sustain dealers aftermarket growth initiatives related to machine service and repair options defined by the Product Groups and executed through the Factory Managed Process.

  • Handle quote & execution issues with customer/dealers, communicate outward and manage Caterpillar reputation.

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of staff engaged in promoting and selling a product, driving operational improvement, and overseeing the resolution of customer complaints.

  • Reporting to the incumbent are Sr. Market Research Consultants, Sr. Sales Support Consultants, Product Support Operations Consultants and Project.

What Skills you will have:

Customer Focus: Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.

Data Gathering & Analysis: Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes; ability to collect and synthesize data from a variety of stakeholders and sources in an objective manner to reach a conclusion, goal, or judgment.

Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Negotiating: This position requires to quickly analyze situations and provide business guidance, recommending solutions to complex commercial issues. Demonstrate ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner.

Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers. The position requires a strong background in dealing with customers and dealers.

Strategic Thinking: Knowledge of the importance of "big picture" thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization.

Value Selling: Knowledge of the principles and practices for selling products, technology and services; ability to provide overall product/service 'value' and to differentiate support offerings that address clearly understood customer needs.

Education and Experience Requirement: A college degree in Marketing or Engineering or equivalent experience.

The primary location for this position is Tucson, AZ.
