Caterpillar Inc. seeks Engineering Specialist-Dev/Res at its facility located at 875 W Cushing St, Tucson, AZ 85745.

Provide technical direction for electric power conversion. These products include power conversion systems (PCS) for machines and stationary energy storage such as MW class BESS Inverter, UPS system and fuel cell inverters, and Caterpillar battery powered machine. Support Caterpillar's continued electrification initiatives and expanded offering across RI, CI, and E&T business segments. Design and develop next generation MW class chargers, BESS Inverter, 500kvA double conversion UPS, and fuel cell inverter for battery powered Caterpillar machines. Meet cost, quality, and performance targets for targeted applications. Provide system and troubleshoot expertise for product support and field follow teams. Provide input to technical leaders regarding future technology development. Lastly, collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Project Execution to develop market requirement documentation to introduce new products to the market and provide inputs to the FMEA sessions based on product development. 25% Domestic and international travel required.

REQS: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electrical Engineering or related field, and eight (8) years of experience as a Technical Leader, Design Engineer, Development Engineer, or related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Power conversion product design; (2) LV and MV switchgear; (3) Supply chain and supplier management; and (4) Variable Frequency Drive.
