Job Description

Projects & Utility Engineer

The Projects & Utility Engineer manages Capital Projects from initiation to execution to ensure successful on-time completion. They are also responsible for improving the site mechanical systems and trouble-shooting equipment issues. The Engineer leverages their team-orientation and strong Project and Mechanical skills.

The Engineer is embedded with operations, working cross functionally with the maintenance Manager, process engineers and operators.

The Projects & Utility Engineer is on-site in Tyrone, PA and reports to the Maintenance Manager

Responsibilities

CAPITAL PROJECTS

Project planning and execution on capital assets and equipment for processes.

+ + Generate and manage all capital projects in a corporate platform.

  • Develop a schedule and manage the logistics of these projects including compliance with time restraints and budget requirements.

  • Work directly with outside contractors on projects that require contractors to work on site. This work will include ensuring proper safe work permits are completed, conformity with corporate ISN regulations, and planning work with all site departments.

    Utility Systems:

    Improve the reliability of site utility systems: Chillers, cooling towers, air compressors, flares, electrical systems, water boilers, hot oil burners, fire pumps, generators, waste tanks, bulk tanks, etc.

    • Trouble shoot bad actors and discover opportunities to drive continuous improvement.
  • Work on the documentation of issues and properly organizing the storage of parts for these systems.

    Mechanical Systems

  • Generate auto-(Computer Aided Design) CAD drawings for specialty machined parts and work with local machine shops and on-site mechanics to have these items manufactured.

  • Use mechanical strengths to standardize/improve solids loading for the site.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electromechanical or Mechanical Engineering

  • 2+ years of related experience

  • CAD experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Physical Requirements and Environment
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.

  • Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection.

  • Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a plant facility with highly hazardous materials

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using organizational skills to manage complex projects

  • Experience using time management skills to manage multiple projects and competing demands

  • Demonstrated experience working cross functionally with all levels of the Plant and Organization
