Maintenance Clerk - Velva, ND

This is a full time, Salary non-exempt position.

Position Summary:

The role of the Maintenance Clerk is to work with the Maintenance Superintendent and Supervisor to improve work force productivity and work quality by ordering and receiving parts, keeping a parts inventory for all mechanical maintenance work. The Clerk acts as a liaison between Production and Maintenance Departments. He is also responsible for ensuring the company vehicles are serviced as needed. The focus is to minimize costs, control expenditures related to equipment, spare parts inventory, consumable items and procure any necessary parts/ equipment.

Job Requirements:

  • Proactively work to ensure that all ADM employees understand and comply with ADM safety policies and procedures

  • Create purchase orders, receive against purchase orders, properly store inventory, submit company credit card receipts on a monthly basis

  • Work with Maintenance Superintendent/Supervisor to estimate cost, labor, materials, special tools or equipment needed to complete the job in a safe and cost-effective manner

  • Initiate and track procurement of parts, special tools and rental equipment

  • Ensure optimal level of stock items are maintained with periodic review and adjust as necessary

  • Manage and maintain an effective equipment history including work history and preventative maintenance program history

  • High school diploma/GED required

  • 2-5 years of experience preferred

  • Good working knowledge of computers is a must including Microsoft products such as Excel, Word and Outlook,

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet specific deadlines

  • Interpersonal skills with desire to be a team member

  • Effective oral and written communication

  • High performer with initiative to learn other responsibilities

Language Skills – Ability to read and communicate effectively is required. Must be able to interpret work instructions, formulate plans, and express ideas and concerns effectively to co-workers, maintenance personnel and supervisors. Log all incidents and actions taken in a clear and concise method.

Mathematical Skills — Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide 4 digit numbers. .

Reasoning Ability — Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out multiple step instructions. Ability to remember and prioritize multiple job tasks. Must be able to work with minimal supervision.

Working Conditions

  • Temperature and humidity conditions in the work area can vary from temperatures ranging from -40 degrees F up to or exceeding 100 degrees, and very humid (near or over 80%) to ultra-low humidity (less than 40%).

  • Outdoor work may be required and is subject to extreme hot and cold temperature conditions

  • Manufacturing processes are highly reliant on machines and as a result, noise levels can reach up to 115 decibels requiring the use of hearing protection.

  • Some jobs or tasks require working at heights

  • Personal protective equipment (such as safety glasses, boots, or gloves) must be worn per company work rules

  • Employee must be available to work weekend hours as needed

Physical Requirements

  • Employee is required to stand and reach with arms and hands, as a regular occurrence

  • The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls

  • The employee is regularly required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

The pay range for this position is expected to be between:
