Lockheed Martin Combatant Craft Maintenance Engineer in Virginia Beach, Virginia
Description:
You will be the Combatant Craft Maintenance Engineer for the Lexington, KY area and must have the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Combatant Craft Maintenance Engineer embedded with a SOF GLSS Program Team; your duties will include:
•Responsible for the monitoring and coordination for all actions related to maintenance management for Commander Naval Special Warfare Group 4 (NSWG4). This includes day to day communication and facilitation with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the requirements to keep the craft operational are in place.
•Will participate in and/or monitor all Combatant Craft Medium (CCM) and Combatant Craft Assault (CCA) maintenance and repair activity availability requirements.
•Participation in the maintenance support planning for visits to other CONUS locations the craft will operate from to ensure all Detachment Maintenance requirements have been evaluated, reviewed, and planned for accordingly.
•Participate in Detachment operations, assessments, inspections, installation deployment plans and disaster preparedness exercises as required.
•Reports directly to the Maritime Sustainment Field Engineer Manager in Virginia Beach, VA and supports the daily activities required by the NSWG4 - N9 Engineering Department Head and or his/her deputy.
Work is performed without appreciable direction.
•Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives and approaches to an assignment. Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long-range perspective, for desired results.
•Facilitates cross functional forecasts for maintenance requirements and participates in weekly, monthly, and seasonal planning activities, identify resources constraints, mitigation plan and ensure service levels are met.
•Develops and implements appropriate checklists and metrics.
•Produces performance reporting and analyzes trends to mitigate impacts to craft availability.
•Attends as a key player in weekly and monthly cross functional maintenance and logistics planning meetings to ensure proper communication and engagement. Decisions made impact the operational relationships with internal SOCOM partners and external partners and vendors.
•Guides the successful completion of major programs/projects and may function in a project leadership role. Decisions made may affect other site personnel, the financial posture of the detachment and the sites ability to perform required tasks.
•Responsible for coordinating all maintenance, repair parts, supplies, tools and calibration requirements for on-site service providers as required/directed by the N9 Engineering Department Head for CCM and CCA craft.
•Applies extensive technical and operational expertise and has full knowledge of the other related disciplines. Viewed as the unit Subject Matter Expert for maintenance availabilities, support equipment requirements, detachment deployment requirements and operational maintenance requirements for CCM and CCA craft.
•Serves as the organization’s primary maintenance planner, support equipment staff lead for operations and planning.
•Develops technical and operational solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
•Identifies opportunities for cost reduction and recommends requirement for maintenance contract negotiations based off previous efforts.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience/combined education with 5 years or more of professional experience or 15 to 20 years professional experience in lieu of a degree.
Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Combatant craft maintenance availability requirements both short term and long range
Extensive knowledge with NSW craft, support equipment requirements and operational maintenance requirements specifically applicable to CCM and CCA
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to senior management, peers, and team members A curious, quantitative, flexible and aggressive intellect with superb conceptual thinking, analytical focus and problem-solving skills Ability to obtain an interim Secret DoD Security clearance prior to starting this position. Obtaining a Security Clearance requires US Citizenship Ability to travel to all 50 US States and Territories
Ability to travel CONUS within 72 hour notification

Have a minimum of fifteen (15) years working in or indirect support of the Military / government agency
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
