BMO Financial Group Manager, Software Asset Management Platform in Virtual, Illinois

About the role:

BMO is building a modern Software Asset Management practice aimed at making more efficient decisions regarding acquisition, management, release, deployment, maintenance and eventual retirement of software assets. Using a capable platform (ServiceNow SAM) we are looking to augment our team with driven professional passionate about ITAM and SAM, who want to build a career in this space.

We’re looking for a candidate who has significant hands-on usage of ServiceNow SAM (managing software end-to-end) to help work with remediating errors and maturing the current SAM operations team knowledge and experience using ServiceNow SAM. The candidate should also have experience with at least one implementation of SAM platform.

Description

The ideal candidate is a ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM) Specialist, experienced in the Software Asset Management lifecycle (request to disposal). The successful candidate’s primary purpose will be to support ServiceNow eco-system from development to implementation in production, and assist with issues from a troubleshooting perspective.

What will you do:

  • Hands on end-to-end management of software within ServiceNow SAM Platform

  • Hands on experience with Software Asset workspace

  • Knowledgeable about tier 1 software licensing (Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, etc.) and the ServiceNow publisher packs

  • Experience in ServiceNow SAM Pro capabilities like license cost optimization & entitlement packs.

  • Implement and configure the ServiceNow SAM platform according to business requirements.

  • Maintain and optimize the SAM platform, ensuring accurate tracking of software licenses and compliance.

  • Collaborate with IT and procurement teams to manage software inventory and lifecycle.

  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures for effective software asset management.

  • Key data tables within SAM (e.g. table names for Software Entitlements, Software Discovery Model, Software Installations)

  • Configure Entitlement Upgrade & Downgrade rights, Conditions, Discovery Models, Discovery Maps, Software Model normalization

  • Create, design and apply Transform Maps

  • Utilize SAM Pro tools to generate accurate reports and analysis on software inventory, usage, and compliance.

  • Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on SAM Pro best practices and ensure knowledge transfer within the team.

  • Must have knowledge of ServiceNow’s Content Management Service in relation to SAM.

  • Must have experience with migrating data from other Software Asset Management (SAM) tools

  • Experience with reviewing ServiceNow logs and remediating SAM Pro errors a plus

  • Manage Service Now Vulnerability Module Snow Coding, Automation

  • Designing Dashboarding, Workflows

  • Handle Tenable Snow Integration issues, CMDB/IPAM integration issues, Troubleshooting and vendor coordination, Root cause analysis.

  • Work with Vulnerability Management closely and redesign the assignment logics & modifications.

  • Experience in scripting and automation within ServiceNow.

  • Design Dashboarding, Workflows Snow Patching & Upgrade Cleanup task Knowledge on SecOps & GRC module also Involvement in Other Automation task (Python, PowerShell & Ansible).

  • Familiarity with ITIL frameworks."

Must have:

  • ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM) platforms: 5 years (required)

  • SW Support and ServiceNow overall experience: 10 years (required)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant domain (engineering, computer science, math)

  • Experience with ServiceNow SAM platform implementation and support

  • Hands on experience with Software Asset workspace

  • Experience leading or managing Software Asset Management Support function for a large organization using enterprise tools (ServiceNow eco-system)

  • Certified ITIL, ITSM, ITIM

  • Certified CSAM, CITAM (ideally)

Compensation and Benefits:

$110,000.00 - $204,100.00

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
