The Colleague Services (CS) organization within the Colleague Experience Group (also known as Human Resources) at American Express plays a critical role in providing outstanding services, capabilities, data, and insights to enable a great colleague experience. The organization builds foundational and operational products and services to enable the Colleague Experience Group (CEG) and the business. The CS organization runs the ecosystem of CEG products, processes, platforms, applications, third party partners, colleague insights and reporting, and colleague-related risk, compliance, and governance.

The Digital Product Director, Talent Acquisition & Management will be responsible for shaping and executing against product strategies that support our core CEG tools and enable a great colleague experience everyday. Working in close partnership with the Systems, Operations and Technology organizations, the Director is accountable for developing a product vision and constantly iterating a product backlog that delivers meaning impacts and capitalizes on current and upcoming features.

The Director will lead a team of colleagues based in US and will report into the Vice President, Colleague Products & Enablement based in the US.

Job Responsibilities

  • Shape and execute on product strategy for talent acquisition and management tools

  • Lead a team of product managers, driving a culture of curiosity, creativity, resiliency, delivery, shared ideas and ability to question and learn

  • Partner with Systems, Operations and Technology teams to drive a collective vision and roadmap

  • Develop new ideas into proofs of concept that can be integrated for testing and learning

  • Drive key performance indicators including improving efficiency and satisfaction levels

  • Support and lead cross-functional teams in adopting all agile practices and support direct reports in continuous backlog management and decisioning on required prioritization trade-offs

  • Partner with Systems and Technology to create rigor around demand management and capacity planning to ensure team is resourced to drive the most impactful features

  • Communicate clearly and effectively with all key stakeholders to create a transparent and collaborative environment and provide visibility of the prioritized roadmap

  • Partner closely with Systems and Technology to identify future platform needs and opportunities

Key Qualifications

  • Significant experience as a Product Manager/Director (or related role) in agile delivery methodology (preferred) with proven ability to define a compelling product strategy and roadmap

  • Passion for the user experience and strong track record in delivering meaningful results through measurable outcomes

  • Demonstrated experience with innovative thinking, idea generation and developing new products from the ground up

  • Curiosity to know how things work and ability to use that knowledge to make connections and find opportunities for innovation

  • Data-driven mindset, able to use data effectively to define hypotheses, as well as make informed product decisions when data may be unavailable

  • Experience with human capital management digital products, including with Oracle product suite

  • Confident and engaging storyteller, with experience delivering presentations and

communicating with colleagues, leaders and partners of all levels

  • The ability to engage, influence and inspire team members and partners to drive teamwork and collaboration and movement towards a single goal or vision

  • Strong stakeholder management skills to manage key partnerships across CS, CEG and Technology effectively and balance competing priorities leveraging data driven decision making

  • Experience leading global direct reports

  • A resilient, positive attitude and sense of humor

Qualifications

Salary Range: $150,000.00 to $225,000.00 annually bonus equity (if applicable) benefits
