The expected salary range for this role is CAD $ 126,100 - 149,720 . This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The Senior Process Control Engineer is responsible for identifying, designing, supporting the implementation of process control optimisation improvements to drive value in our processing plants by optimising process conditions. The incumbent will design control strategies and support the execution of trials of new technology and instrumentation. The incumbent will be required to engage with various stakeholders from projects to site owners to ensure the successful integration of new technologies and instrumentation into the operations.

Your role will consist of :

Here is a snapshot of what your day to day will look like:

  • Develop new, or replicate existing high-value process control strategies on various control system platforms globally.

  • Develop and monitor tools to monitor effectiveness, utilisation and value created from process control solutions implemented across sites globally

  • Monitor process control system health metrics and KPI’s and intervene / escalate to site teams when appropriate

  • Liaise with and mentor site control systems teams, both when on-site and remotely

  • Provide control systems and process control support to minor and major projects

  • Participate and contribute to the global control systems community of practice.

Your training, skills, and experience checklist:

Here what we need from you:

  • Minimum 8 years working on control systems and process control, particularly in optimisation and advanced process control roles

  • Extensive experience in optimisation of processing plants; including significant experience in on-site roles

  • Demonstrated understanding of best practise in control strategy implementation

  • Experience in mentoring technical resources highly regarded

  • Experience in gold processing preferred but not essential

  • Demonstrated experience in using analytical tools to assess process and automation performance (eg. Plant Historians, Excel tools, etc)

  • Significant expertise in at least one of the following control provider solutions;

  • Yokogawa Centum VP DCS

  • Emerson DeltaV DCS

  • Foxboro (Schneider) CCS

  • Allen-Bradley / Rockwell PLC’s

  • Schneider / Modicon PLC’s

  • Citect, FactoryTalk View or CI Server SCADA HMI’s

  • Assertive, self-motivated and able to build collaborative and productive professional relationships across sites and regions.

  • Effective people management, training and mentoring skills

  • Advanced computer competency

  • Multilingual (English, Spanish, French) would be advantageous.

  • The role is global in nature, encompassing work at various sites as well as remote work from home. It demands significant flexibility in roster arrangements to meet the diverse business needs across multiple site locations.
