About this role

What will you be responsible for?

•Manages contractors, construction workers, project engineers, consultants, and associated project staff.

•Leads diverse team to study options related to projects associated with mining, processing, closure, and other facets of Newmont’s business.

Purpose

•Coordinate risk assessments and complex decisions with short-term and long-term business impacts.

•Oversees all aspects of site civil and mechanical projects. Manages contractors, construction workers, engineers, and associated project staff.

•Plans, conducts, and directs the design, engineering, procurement, cost scheduling, and construction activities for growth, sustaining environmental and closure projects.

Your role will consist of

Here is a snapshot of what your day-to-day will look like:

•Manage consultants and internal staff to design and execute growth, closure and sustaining projects through Newmont’s investment system.

•Support permitting activities for growth, sustaining, environmental and closure projects.

•Review, evaluate, and approve contracts for work to be performed by consultants and outside contractors. Monitor budgets, approve plans and designs, and resolve problems as they arise.

•Direct the planning, design, engineering, procurement, cost, scheduling and activities of a project by coordinating efforts of various internal departments, projects teams and outside resources.

•Develop proposals and cost estimates. Estimate project needs including equipment, materials and personnel. Schedule work to meet completion dates and technical specifications.

•Monitor all work in progress to ensure that quality and engineering standards are met and that designs are effective throughout the entire process. Approve changes to designs or schedules as necessary.

•Provide technical direction in the resolution of problems associated with the design, engineering and construction of the project. Problems will vary in severity and require an advanced knowledge of project management to ensure adequate resolution.

•Manage internal and external project relations.

•Resolve project logistics, information, decisions, supply, and project timeline.
