Newmont Tanami is on Aboriginal freehold land 540km northwest of Alice Springs. It is a long-life, low-cost, world-class asset in a core Newmont region. The Tanami Expansion 2 project, aims to extend the mine life beyond 2040, investing in a hoisting shaft which will increase the production of the underground mine from 2.6 Mtpa to 3.2 Mtpa. Both the successful exploration within the underground operation and implementation of the first Tanami Expansion has laid the foundation to further develop the operation to remain a major contributor to the Newmont portfolio. A fully equipped camp is located 40km from the site offering leisure facilities for those flying in from Perth, Brisbane, Alice Springs or Darwin.

About the role:

The Supply Officer, reporting to the Supply Supervisor, is tasked with delivering a secure and efficient warehousing service to all end-user customers. This role supports and upholds the continuity of operations and maintenance activities.

The duty of the Supply Officer includes safeguarding assets and securing the inventory within the warehouse and adjacent storage areas. Additionally, the officer ensures that the physical stock and the Inventory Management System's records are accurate, thereby guaranteeing the availability of materials at a high standard.

The Supply Officers role is to ensure asset protection and security of inventory is maintained within the warehouse and surrounding storage locations as well as ensuring accuracy between the physical items and the Inventory Management System stock levels, to ensure a high level of material availability.

Duties Include

  • Verify incoming freight deliveries against documentation for accuracy and check for transit damage, reporting any discrepancies found.

  • Ensure inventory items are correctly stored, binned, and secured, updating bin locations as necessary upon receipt.

  • Input receipt data promptly and accurately. Utilize general warehouse material handling equipment for the movement, storage, and distribution of inventory.

  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts at all warehouse and laydown areas and examine any discrepancies.

    The duties listed are comprehensive but not exhaustive.

About You:

  • Valid "C" class driver's license (HR preferred)

  • Valid forklift license

  • Experience with and understanding of SAP

  • Proficient in computer skills, including ERP systems

  • Load restraint certification

  • Prior experience in stores and warehousing within the Mining, Construction, or Heavy Earthmoving industries

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
