Global Health Benefits Product Manager

General Description:

The Global Health Benefits Product Manager will help support and execute strategies for the GHB business and product development designed to maximize profitable growth and new revenue targets. This will require a thorough understanding of both regional and global business priorities and how to effectively deliver compliant market leading solutions with speed and accuracy to achieve stated growth targets.

Support strategies for product development designed to maximize profitable growth and revenue targets. Strategies include market and segment analysis, product definition, competitive assessment and underwriting/pricing strategies, ensuring that products deliver superior value to customers.

The Global Health Benefits Product Manager will assist with the development and management of product solutions for all lines within the GHB segment.

This position requires a strong market presence and advanced knowledge of product lines and potential application within these markets, as well as coordination with GHB global products to ensure consistency in customer experience with relevance in local and regional markets. Fundamentals including detailed product development, product management and project management skills are required. In addition, this position will also lead cross-functional teams with internal partners and external partners to compile and shepherd product business cases through the funding and approval processes required and then lead execution and delivery of product initiatives. Candidate must have well-developed matrix management and influencing skills to accomplish significant objectives in a complex industry. Must be viewed as the expert by key internal stakeholders including sales, account management, operations, strategy, network & clinical, legal, underwriting, pricing and marketing teams and must be able to balance the management and maintenance of existing products with enhancement as well as the development of new products for both markets.

Core responsibilities:

1. Manage existing products: This includes medical and any ancillary/supplemental lines within market, including Cigna Links products serviced within market.

 Develop roadmaps and KPIs per product responsibility

 Provide updates on roadmaps and performance against KPIs; periodic product performance reviews

 Monitor product performance, working with vendor and internal partners to enhance, as needed.

 Annual pricing review, promotional and marketing materials

 Ensure compliance of existing products working closely with legal and compliance

 Lead work with cross-functional teams to update and enhance when required

2. Product Innovation & Development Strategy: Define and support global product innovations strategies and solutions. Develop and champion business cases to secure approvals and funding when needed. Lead and manage multi-functional teams to execute product strategy initiatives in region

 Work with key local partners and business leads to define strategic plan for both near term and long term growth, including vendor partnerships.

 Identify barriers to implementing future design and develop work plan to resolve them.

 Cross walk global innovations and needs with product peers to maximize speed to market

 Support client-specific requests which impact product offerings

3. Market Competitive Intel Expert: Ability to work across cross-functional teams to synthesize market and competitive insights to better understand the local markets and how Cigna can win through competitive products relevant both locally and globally.

 Viewed as the expert by key internal stakeholders including sales, account management, strategy, operations, underwriting, pricing, legal, etc.

 Bring local market insights into the product development process

Qualifications/Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA or Master’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred

• Experience in Agile project methodology

• Minimum of 10 years product, underwriting or Cigna Links experience

• Minimum of 10 years global healthcare and/or global insurance experience

• 5 years’ experience managing cross-functional projects preferred. Six Sigma a plus, but not required.
