The Impact You’ll Make in this RoleResponsible for sales and promotion of 3M Materials into Key Customer Accounts primarily around the Bay Area of Northern California. Key Accounts are large (Fortune 200) multi-national companies with operations spanning the globe. The KAM position acts as the 3M engagement leader and overall top manager for those key customers. Frequent travel to US based customer locations and occasional travel to customer and customer’s supply chain international locations is required.

As a(n) Key Account Manager, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Present, promote products to existing and prospective customers in US. Especially engage with Eink, META, Amazon in US to align Electronics Vertical’s strategy and bring the customer insights/roadmap

  • Needs analysis of existing/potential customers to meet their needs. Focusing on NBPC & monitor device SET product design/Specification

  • Lead or influence the Electronics Vertical display CE’s spec-in and connect with marketing, supply chain sales to make N+13 spec in

  • Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships

  • Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction

  • Achieve agreed upon sales activity targets and outcomes within schedule

  • Coordinate sales effort with global team members and other cross functional teams

  • Fully understanding for customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products

  • Keep abreast of best practices and promotional trends, Continuously improve through feedback

  • Supervisor role in US

Company Vehicle

This position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre-employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or higher (completed and verified prior to start)

  • Three (3) years of sales, marketing, or engineering experience in a private, public, government or military environment

  • Current, valid Driver’s License.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Master's degree in a technical field such as engineering, applied physics, optics from an accredited institution

  • Five (5) years of experience in sales and management to large fortune 500 multi-national companies in a private, public, government or military environment

  • Understanding of NBPC, Monitor device market & US customers (Eink, META, Amazon,Google, etc)

  • Good knowledge of DMSD’s optical sheet product (3M DBEF, prism, reflector sheet, etc) & EMSD product (conductive tape, etc)

  • Excellent selling, negotiation and communication skills

  • Prioritizing, time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the customer needs

  • Relationship management skills and openness to feedback

  • Flexibility for US internal travel often and Asia trip sometimes

  • Brand model-based tracking by utilizing SFDC

  • Skills include interpersonal relations, excellent written and verbal communications, well organized, team building attitude and actions.

Travel: May include up to 50% domestic and 10% international

This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
