R18280 Model Governance and Risk Management Analyst (open to remote work) (Open)

Summary:

Provides model governance and risk management services to the business. Engages and collaborates with business partners including model developers, owners and users throughout the enterprise to ensure adherence to model governance policies. Quantifies, analyses and reports model risk. Uses model risk measures to inform model governance and model risk management actions. Develops standards and guidelines for business partners that align with the industry. Relies upon personal experience with data, statistical and quantitative analysis, explanatory and predictive modeling, and fact-based management to review models or model-driven automated processes in order to identify and mitigate risk posed by insufficient documentation, validation or controls.

Job Description:

  • Works with business partners in the development and maintenance of an enterprise model inventory

  • Educates business partners on their roles and accountabilities as defined in the model governance policy

  • Ensures the model governance policy is reflective of current standards, industry best practices, and guidance from regulators

  • Performs model governance policy conformance reviews and communicates findings to various stakeholders and leadership with recommendations for actions to address model risk as it relates to appropriate levels of documentation, validation and controls

  • Acts as a subject matter expert to provide guidance to business partners on model risk mitigation techniques

  • Evaluates, designs, tests and maintains model governance and risk management systems and make recommendations for new tools and system enhancements

  • Provides business analysis, tool, and technique expertise

  • Identifies, develops, and shares best practice guidelines for various modeling tools or techniques

  • Collaborates with business partners to incorporate or enhance model risk management techniques in standard model development or maintenance processes

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service

  • Solid knowledge and understanding of forecasting techniques or statistical analysis or data modeling or data mining

  • Demonstrated experience utilizing software tools to query and report data

  • Demonstrated experience with a variety of standard reporting software packages and best practices for report deployment processes

  • Demonstrated experience communicating/presenting complex and independent concepts and unbiased fact-based decision-making and financial performance

  • Demonstrated experience developing complex data sets for wide-spread use

Travel Requirements

  • This position requires travel up to 10% of the time.

Additional Job Information:

Preferred candidates for this role will have:

  • High proficiency in written and verbal communications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Actuarial Science, Data Science, Computer Science or related field, or the equivalent combination of training, education, and experience

  • Experience in predictive model development, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance is preferred
