RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position is with the CCS Replacement Components (RC) business and is responsible overseeing RC parts packaging solutions that impact packaging quality and savings activities on a multitude and variety of HVAC parts and kits. You will work with a multi-functional team, consisting of RC customers, Buyers, suppliers, internal plants, warehouse operations, freight providers and Engineering project teams. General responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Manage and prioritize packaging development and improvement projects to meet RC, customer, and regulatory needs, including quality improvements, cost and/or time savings, and improved availability

  • Build project plans and organize resources to ensure project achievements are met within expectations of timeline, quality and budget

  • Remain current on packaging innovations and lead implementation of effective methods, materials and technologies

  • Effectively communicate (verbally and in writing) with diverse audiences including multi-functional team members, senior leaders, global suppliers, and external customers including Service Managers and Technicians

  • Drive interaction of multi-functional teams to find and eliminate packaging quality issues with new design solutions or to implement cost improvement opportunities by performing required root cause analyses, design methodologies, feasibility justifications as well as shipping and handling testing

  • Create packaging related Standard Work for suppliers and RC warehouse packaging and kitting operations, including quality standards, new part corrugated packaging and dunnage requirements, transit test methods and validation requirements

  • Provide mentoring and training for appropriate personnel performing packaging activities

  • Ensure parts packaging meets required ISO and ASTM guidelines for integrity and transportation robustness

  • Develop bar codes, symbology, and labeling processes when appropriate

  • Explain and prepare capital expenditures for new packaging processes and equipment

Qualification:

  • Experience in packaging engineering, structured problem solving, and use of statistical tools

  • Experience with packaging of small to large HVAC parts or similar products is helpful

  • Training and experience in Lean and Six Sigma, or equivalent

  • Self-starter with ability to learn quickly and work independently under minimum direction and without day-to-day supervision to prioritize work to meet customer needs

  • Experience working in a team environment to achieve goals

  • Understanding of industry-wide accepted system packaging engineering tools

  • Knowledge of, and experience using, design for six sigma principles

  • Intermediate level skills with Microsoft Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Word

  • Organized with strong attention to detail, while handling multiple priorities

  • Shown ability to implement continuous improvements and standardize processes

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree with 6-10 years of relevant experience

  • Master's degree with 4-7 years of relevant experience
