About this Role

We are looking to fill aScientist 2- Formulation Scientistposition working asa full-time employee of Parexel FSP on long-term assignmentonsite at one of our clients located inKenilworth, NJ.This position offers full benefits, sick time, 401K, paid holidays, and paid time off. This position does not offer any sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the formulation development activities and GLP and GMP manufacture of sterile injectable and inhaled products.

  • Support selected analytical studies on formulated products such as osmolality, viscosity, pH, and dynamic light scattering.

  • Provide pilot plant provisioning and support for manufacturing.

  • Follow safe laboratory practices and maintain the work area in a clean orderly and safe manner.

  • Draft, review and execute protocols for batch manufacture.

Qualifications:BS Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or related discipline

  • Scientist 2 –BS/BA with 1 - 2 year of experience

Required Skills and Experience

  • Scientific and mechanical aptitude and experience maintaining, designing, and/or operating scientific equipment and machinery.

  • Ability to follow safe laboratory practices and maintain work area in a clean orderly and safe manner.

  • Ability to draft, review and execute GLP and GMP documents (SOPs, batch records)

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.

  • Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and attention to detail.

  • Excellent organizational skills to multi-task and to manage multiple projects.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • A desire to develop complex pharmaceutical products and continuously learn.

  • Experience with complex process equipment like powder feeders, acoustic mixers, lyophilizers and sterile filtration systems.

  • Ability to adapt to and learn bespoke manufacturing equipment.

  • Experience with data acquisition systems associated with pilot scale process equipment.

  • A passion to contribute to the development of pharmaceutical products with a significant potential to impact global human health.
