The Senior Strategic Account Manager, Private Equity, Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc. delivers sales goals and strategically guides relationships for a portfolio of high-volume accounts while providing leadership across multiple customer teams and customer projects. Shared responsibility for delivery of financial goals including topline sales, bottom line income, share and individual responsibility for managing investments to budget and maximizing return on account investments.

+ + Effectively gather and analyze essential account data

  • Understand customer procedures and structure

  • Understand account details including strategy, level of category focus, growth rates (category and JJV) and share (JJV and competition)

  • Anticipate customer needs, marketplace evolutions and threats

  • Demonstrate an understanding of industry, emerging trends and competitive positions

  • Understand the roles and responsibilities of customer stakeholders and establish trusting relationships

  • Develop and execute effective stakeholder engagement plans

  • Partner with field sales organization to align strategic account planning efforts

  • Build and execute effective negotiation plans

  • Develop Strategic Account Joint Business Plan

  • Use Insights and deep customer knowledge to shape joint priorities and influence for support of JJV category solutions

  • Demonstrate expertise in applying Strategic Selling processes

  • Demonstrate knowledge of JJV products and differentiate them from the competition

  • Effectively apply product and technical knowledge, economic factors, and total value proposition to influence product and promotional decisions

  • Apply category insights to pursue growth-driving initiatives based upon on-going category insights

  • Strategically manage portfolio of products groups through trade partnership

  • Understand each phase of the patient journey and find actionable insights

  • Skilled in the digital and e-commerce space; able to connect JJV digital capabilities with customer e-commerce capabilities to shape and deliver joint connected commerce (omnichannel) goals and objectives

  • Effectively communicate across a variety of stakeholders and contexts

  • Be timely and responsive to the needs of stakeholders

  • Consistently demonstrate the Johnson & Johnson Credo

  • Understand JJV product strategies and demonstrate and ability to leverage company programs to achieve business goals

  • Understand and ensure effective supply chain solutions

  • Demonstrate effective forecasting skills

  • Demonstrate understanding of JJV business planning process and current business plan priorities.

  • Utilize analytical, business tools and other resources to work efficiently, inform investments, and drive business results.

  • Utilize KPI’s to track results and adjust activity to meet objectives.

  • Understand and consider key financial processes and metrics important to the customer and the business (e.g., contracts, pricing, ROI, P&L).

  • Demonstrate an understanding of product pricing dynamics and apply to contracting


Minimum education required for competent performance:

  • BA / BS in business related field, MBA desirable

Minimum experience

  • Minimum 8+ years sales or marketing experience required

  • Management experience preferred

  • Strategic Account experience preferred


  • Position requires approximately 40 - 50% overnight travel

  • Preference to live in large account base geography

  • Valid driver’s license in one of the 50 states in required.
