The SS Senior Tax Analyst will join a team of analysts that prepare the sales, use, occupancy and other operating taxes (“transaction tax”) returns at the Hyatt Shared Service Center. The SS Senior Tax Analyst will report to a SS Tax Supervisor. This individual must possess the ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment. A degree in Accounting or a Finance-related field is preferred. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, self-starter who demonstrates an eagerness to learn and continuously improve.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare transaction tax returns and tax reconciliations on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis for our Full Service and limited Select Service managed hotels, as assigned.

  • Request supporting documentation from Hotel finance teams to finalize tax returns and maintain in our records for audit defense purposes.

  • Assist SS Tax Supervisor with tax audits by responding to inquiries from tax jurisdictions on behalf of our Full Service and limited Select Service managed hotels.

  • Support the review of tax exemption policies and procedures to ensure proper steps are followed and sufficient records are maintained at the hotel level.

  • Collaborate with the Corporate indirect tax team, HSSC Tax, and the Hotel Finance teams on any tax-related issues.

  • Prepare tax reconciliation for hotel properties.

  • Maintain strong working relationships with Hotel finance teams as well as cross-functionally with HSSC and Corporate teams.

  • Research and complete special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

Experience

  • A minimum of 3 year of experience in accounting or tax

  • Experience with the preparation of tax returns a plus

  • Ability to multi-task, effectively prioritize and meet deadlines

  • Strong communication skills

  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance-related field preferred

Computer Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required

  • End user experience with Oracle software preferred
