12501BRJob Description:The Corporate Communications intern will support U. S. Steel’s Corporate Communications content hub and marketing communications team with development and dissemination of relevant stakeholder messaging for external and internal audiences. This is a remote position and will provide support for a wide array of corporate communications and corporate marketing and branding activities.

Job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Researching, writing, editing and proofreading communications content, coordinating appropriate approvals, and publishing to various internal and external platforms. This includes content for social media holidays (i.e. #STEMDays) and local community events, as well as developing a library of evergreen content.

  • Organizing, managing, and uploading photo, video and other assets to a digital asset management system.

  • Support coordination, scheduling, planning and execution of company events (e.g. media events, trade shows and conferences, community engagement events, etc.).

  • Support maintenance for company website which may include writing copy, sourcing images, and editing content.

  • Collect quantitative and qualitative data from social media/digital marketing campaigns.

  • Conduct digital marketing and social media competitive research.

  • Coordinate approval process of podcast materials for external guests.

  • Assisting with the management of the team’s editorial calendar.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must be a full-time student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in journalism, public affairs, communications, marketing or related field.

  • Applicants must provide writing samples.

  • Candidates must be a current student and have completed their sophomore year by June 2024 and be in good academic standing.

  • Be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

  • Available to work remotely at least 12 hours per week during the school year; additional hours possible based on availability

  • Be highly familiar with Microsoft Office 365 programs, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.

  • Motivated self-starters that can work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work independently to accomplish tasks, take proactive steps to improve team progress and success.

  • Manage productive relationships within the team and with clients in a professional, collaborative manner.

  • Demonstrate competence in managing multiple priorities and projects on tight deadlines while delivering high-quality work.

  • Have experience using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar platforms for graphic design and video editing work.

  • Have experience using Bynder or a similar digital asset management platform.
