At Engineering & Property Services (E&PS) we take care of all J&J buildings around the world, providing end-to-end services from Real Estate, Engineering & Strategic Project Delivery to Facilities Management. The Director, IAP Strategic Program Management, will play a key leadership role to advance strategic programs across E&PS and will directly support the Sr. Director, IAP. This role is accountable for advancing key strategic programs for E&PS, in alignment with internal and external partners.

A suitable candidate for this role will have demonstrated experience in the delivery of a robust strategic program within a global organization.

Key relationships include E&PS regional leads, sub-regional leads, and Functional Excellence Teams (FM, PD, RE) as appropriate, to ensure successful for prioritization, execution, and governance of strategic programs. This role also involves coordination with business customers, particularly E&PS’ enabling functional partners - Procurement, Finance, Global Services, EH&S, Global Security, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be a member of the IAP Leadership team focusing on the E&PS strategic priorities

  • Accountable to develop, lead, and deeply understand the all E&PS programs including the resourcing and investment requirements

  • Effectively develop team of Strategic Program Managers and deploy/allocate resources according to skills and bandwidth to meet the needs of all programs

  • Be the initial point of contact for major enterprise programs coming to E&PS to determine resourcing, execution, and governance needs

  • Identify and lead trade-offs and interdependencies across large strategic programs to resolve opportunities for alignments across

  • Accountable to ensure awareness of investments, resourcing, and value tracking across all programs

  • Implement governance for strategic priority objectives – actively engage and communicate with executive sponsors and key partners

  • Create and drive standardization for strategic program management across regions and functions

  • Partner with E&PS Global Performance Management Lead on program impact to E&PS value tracking

  • Accountable for driving prioritization and simplification efforts across E&PS

  • Accountable for driving continuous improvement across E&PS

  • Accountable for the definition of the functional competencies, overall learning and development strategy, and plan for Program Manager roles

Qualifications

Education:

  • University/Bachelor’s or equivalent degree required

  • Masters of Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent degree preferred

  • Professional certifications, (e.g., PMP, Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) preferred

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of related experience

  • Experience in Program Management, Operations, or Supply Chain functions

  • Superior ability to collaborate with peers, leaders, and senior executives to build and implement strategies and drive decision-making

  • Ability to analyze complex issues using critical thinking, problem solving, and sound judgement

  • Strong program management skills, organization, coordination, and action-tracking skills

  • Experience leading large-scale strategic projects / programs

  • Excellence in story-telling communication and presenting complex information to technical and nontechnical stakeholders

  • Excellence in written and verbal communication skills, and presentation skills

  • Successful track record of leading a team at large, multinational enterprises

  • Ability to effectively partner and deliver results in a matrixed environment

  • Ability to function effectively and multitask when presented with tight deadlines

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the capability of interacting with senior business leaders

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills

Preferred:

  • Experience within global medical device and pharmaceutical industry

  • Familiarity within the facilities, real estate, or large capital project delivery environment

  • Experience managing complex workstreams, specifically across geographically dispersed teams

  • Experience building strategic relationships with internal and external project partners

Other:

  • Proficiency in the English language (both verbal and written) is required

  • This position requires up to 30% domestic and international travel

  • The anticipated base pay range for this position is $142,000 to $244,950.

  • The anticipated base pay range for this position is, in the Bay Area, is $163,000 to $281,750

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance.

  • Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

  • This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.

  • Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

  • Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year

  • Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – up to 56 hours per calendar year

  • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year

  • Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
