The Advisory Board Events team oversees the strategy, development, and execution of virtual and in-person events that convene leaders across the health care industry. As we reimagine our future events strategy, we are excited to bring on a Senior Manager to support the strategy, design, and development of in-person and virtual events designed to drive interaction and discussion.

Reporting to the Director of Interactive Event Strategy and Development, the Senior Manager will play a pivotal role within the Events Strategy team, helping to craft innovative interactive exercises, workshops, and experiences. In addition, this role will partner closely with other Advisory Board teams, including Event Operations, Research, Commercial, Delivery, and Product Strategy. The ideal candidate for this role will bring creativity, the ability to organize and marshal cross-functional workstreams, experience with event design, a growth and innovation mindset, and an excitement to develop and test new-in-kind interactive event experiences.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support events strategy, development, and execution for interactive in-person and virtual events, including workshops and roundtable discussions for cohort-based and cross-industry audiences

  • Serve as a consultant to Research teams in developing event agendas with a specific focus on experience, conversation design, and innovative formats

  • Partner with the Event Operations team to design and execute interactive in-person and virtual events

  • Coordinate and schedule conversations across internal teams to gather input and perspective on interactive product strategy

  • Participate in retrospectives with internal stakeholders following interactive events to capture learnings that will support future event design

  • Capture and distribute notes, decisions, and next steps for meetings they are part of

  • Build and maintain a playbook of interactive event elements, exercises, and facilitation techniques for Research teams to utilize in event design

  • Support development and testing of new interactive event experiences

  • Help identify, source, and prepare external attendees and presenters, as needed

  • Research cohort-based events offered by other health care companies to refine our value proposition

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in event strategy

  • Experience creating event-related materials, such as presentation slides, interactive exercises, and facilitation guides

  • Proficiency using virtual event technology platforms; experience with Teams and Cvent a plus

  • Demonstrated project management skills, ability to coordinate across multiple projects

  • Interest in learning and supporting how new products are developed and launched

  • Ability to travel up to 25% (as deemed safe and aligned with current Covid-19 travel guidelines)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with stakeholders across the health care ecosystem (e.g., provider, payer, life sciences, and/or services firms)

  • Experience creating innovative workshop design and architecture

  • Experience in product strategy or new product development

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $66,100 to $118,300. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $72,800 to $129,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
