BAE Systems VHF Radio Service Maintenance Technician in Washington, District Of Columbia
Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking Radio Technical support workforce that is capable to accomplish its assigned duties and respond to no-notice situations in order to sustain the customer s mission and its processes. Provide minimization of the customer s equipment downtime, taking into consideration the circumstances/characteristics of the equipment defect or damage, customer service oriented and respond to the needs of the customer and other contractors. Contractor, Engineering and Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) staff will work alongside division staff to modernize the RF over Fiber Distributed Antenna System in place today to a supported and future ready platform.
Provide staff to support maintenance of Motorola Trunked and Conventional radio system core hardware, network devices, and associated components. Complete moto-patching of equipment, devices and network components. Maintain RF antenna systems of various frequencies and power levels with components to include: Transmit combiners, receive multi-couplers, duplexers, pass and reject filtering, diplexers, and precision tuned filter assemblies with test equipment to include Vector Network Analyzers, return loss bridges, tracking generators with spectrum analyzers, antenna analyzers and power meters.
Support staff will ascertain performance of equipment is at or exceeding minimum expected manufacturer performance along with ability to exceed minimum levels to ensure best performance of radio sites for coverage in both talk-in and talk-out coverage to selected service areas. Complete inventory of all systems, document components and devices, maintain logs on performance and changes, complete site binders associated with site layout, service entities for all equipment, wiring diagrams and network references, and descriptions of service area sites to use for reference when missions require an offline copy. Report items found outside of expected operation or performance to the COR for next steps to monitor, restore or enhance depending on risk to operational mission.
This position is located in Washington, DC. There is no relocation assistance available for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to Washington DC or surrounding areas.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor s Degree and a minimum of 6 years of direct experience with telecommunications, integration and design (additional years of experience may be substituted for the degree)
Ability to pass US Capitol Police Background Check

Proper procedures on lock-out/tag-out when opening from mains or power sources equipment for maintenance. The reversal of restoring power to equipment shall follow industry methods of power-up and include procedures from the program office when required

Quality assurance experience with both new and upgraded telecommunications systems
Trainer / training experience
Positive service-oriented attitude
Experience with larger enterprise IP networks and related networking equipment
Familiarity with Motorola portable and mobile radio accessories and how they work in unison with the devices
Familiarity with Motorola trunked digital radio operation with focus on affiliation process, devices operation when experiencing high traffic, declaring emergencies, navigation from the keypad vs channel selector
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $95106 - $161680
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
