What Presource Global Sourcing contributes to Cardinal Health

Presource Global Sourcing is responsible for Supplier identification and management, inclusive of e-sourcing, to support and enable strategic sourcing and purchasing processes including supplier identification, supplier management, contract negotiation, contract management, metrics management, business analysis, reporting, and leadership to ensure best cost is delivered to the business.

Accountabilities

  • Identifies global sourcing opportunities through collaboratively working with cross-functional teams to ensure best cost and highest quality is delivered to the Presource business (marketing, sales operations, product management, manufacturing, distribution operations, various sourcing teams and finance).
  • Structure all contracts to manage risk and ensure consistency with overall sourcing strategy.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal teams and external customers (suppliers, brokers, manufacturers, etc.).
  • Develop and execute requests for proposals, information or quotes (RFx)
  • Perform data analysis and utilize financial acumen to identify opportunities to leverage scale and drive cost savings
  • Educate key stakeholders; act as subject matter expert (SME).
  • Collect market intelligence and bench marks, iterating strategies accordingly.
  • Support supplier negotiations; liaison with sourcing managers and suppliers as SME.
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for defined categories

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Operations or Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of commodity sourcing experience.
  • Familiarity with global sourcing of medical commodity components including cotton, plastics, instruments, Specialty/Ophthalmic, bags and operating room accessories is preferred.
  • Experience with identifying and qualifying new suppliers and contract manufactures.
  • Experience with negotiating contracts and protecting intellectual property.
  • Superior interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, able to communicate effectively and interact with personnel at all levels of technical ability and expertise.
  • Intermediate to advanced financial modeling/analysis and Microsoft Office skillset.
  • Capital expense planning experience is a plus.

  • Applies comprehensive knowledge and a thorough understanding of global sourcing concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks and projects.
  • Familiar with self-branded, national distribution and contract manufacturing agreements containing global pricing models.
  • Regularly present projects, strategies and timelines to peers and or leadership.
  • Works on medium to large scope sourcing initiatives and projects with varying degrees of complexity.
  • Completes work independently and receives general guidance on new projects and initiatives.
  • May contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
  • Work reviewed for purpose of meeting objectives.
