Abbott Rapid Diagnostics (formerly Alere) is part of Abbott’s Diagnostics family of businesses, bringing together exceptional teams of experts and industry leading technologies. The scope of this position includes leading the customer marketing efforts for the US Infectious Disease Business. The expansion of the ID product portfolio into retail health clinics, pharmacies and educational institutions, provides an opportunity to drive consumer awareness for the ID NOW POC Molecular System and lateral flow COVID-19 rapid test results. This individual will lead a newly created team of two direct reports focused on providing the programs, structure and support to achieve business unit goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Build a best-in-class marketing organization that is attuned to the needs of customers in the non-traditional healthcare sites of care. Validate opportunities by utilizing data trends and market research.

Develop US marketing initiatives in collaboration with key customers such as leading Retail Health customers. Nurture relationships to build on-going, impactful campaigns that drive awareness and utilization of the ID testing platforms.

Engage and manage outside agencies for market research, creative development, media recommendations and CRM activity.

Expand marketing support beyond key accounts to leverage broad customer base serving consumers directly (Urgent Care, Pharmacy) aligning with the value of immediate access to rapid results for COVID-19, Flu, Strep A and RSV.

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve objectives. These groups include external customers, vendors and agencies and internal ARDx Enterprise Account Team, Market Access, Pricing, Legal, Medical, Public Affairs teams, Cross Divisional Marketing and Executive Management.

Develop metrics and maintain cadence of initiative updates to build broad awareness and visibility to program impact and reach.

Understand competitive offerings and provide commercial organizations with appropriate positioning and tools to differentiate product(s) versus the competition in a profitable manner that adds value to the customer.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Knowledge of all aspects of medical marketing and sales, in addition to a strong strategic market and data analysis.

  • Ten (10) + years of healthcare marketing experience to customers. History in point-of-care (POC) diagnostics preferred.

  • Demonstrated success in developing and driving compelling value propositions to accelerate product utilization.

  • Demonstrated experience of effective internal stakeholder management, executive communication and overcoming internal and external barriers to achieve a desired goal.

  • Proficient at forecast modeling and pricing approaches.

  • Demonstrates understanding of the applicable industry regulations and quality management systems including product labeling and claims.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MBA with marketing emphasis desired.

  • History in point-of-care (POC) diagnostics preferred.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Proven team leader with experience in managing, analyzing and refining marketing plan with demonstrated track record of success.

  • Ability to create structured frameworks to evaluate, assess, and enable business decisions

  • Proven ability to multi-task several projects and deliverables for varied internal and external customers.

  • Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to create and deliver professional and impactful presentations.

  • Committed to building and developing a strong team while ramping organizational capabilities
