Job Description
We are seeking a Facilities Engineer with a proven track record of driving a portfolio of assigned projects to completion ahead of schedule and under budget. As a Facilities Engineer you will be responsible for the planning, design, and execution of capital infrastructure projects supporting critical building operations and manufacturing processes in Wayne and Totowa, NJ.
The Facilities Electrical Engineer will manage mid to high level scope projects, plan and coordinate facility renovations, layouts, assembly line relocations, lab builds, equipment updates, and utility support; may include infrastructure modernization, maintenance and upgrading of plant MEP systems, structures, architecture and interior finishes; ensures facilities compliance with OSHA, EPA, applicable codes (NEC, IBC, ADA) and local, state and federal codes and regulations. Applies engineering standards for limited designs in a manufacturing/engineering setting. Develops implementation schedules for maintenance and/or subcontractor activities relating to facilities modernization, coordinating those activities to minimize production/operation delays or lost time and ensures compliance to schedules and project objectives. Investigates need for new facilities and mechanical equipment; participates in make or buy decision. Develops specifications for MEP systems and necessary utilities, which support facilities project implementation. Ensures technical outcomes are consistent with established engineering principles and practices and that customer and company technical, system, performance and quality requirements are met. The incumbent will hire and coordinate with contractors to carry out a variety of projects related to new construction, renovations, specialty equipment installation, and facility infrastructure improvements. The Facilities Engineer is ultimately responsible for the management of projects from initial planning and estimating, to punch-list and final close out. Job Description
Act as the lead on electrical system design, installation, and maintenance for electrical systems such as power distribution, lighting, and communications.
Enforce electrical code compliance with national, state, and local codes to ensure electrical systems meet safety standards and regulations.
Work with trades team on the troubleshooting and repair of electrical issues and assist our Sustainability group with optimizing energy usage to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Maintain compliance records on electrical systems.
Develop and manage the scope, budget, design and schedule of multiple plant rearrangement and production equipment installation projects, from cradle to grave. Responsibilities include project planning, design, bidding work to general contractors, building/executing and closing out the project. Projects can range from $5,000 to over $2,000,000.
Design efforts include developing project requirements and preparing engineering plans and specifications. Facilities Engineers collect data, formulate design specifications, obtain management acceptance, and develop a completely engineered design package for contractor bidding. Many design aspects are completed in collaboration with other staff engineers, contract consultants, and other internal stakeholders.
Evaluate, select, and coordinate activities of external consultants, contractors, and in-house specialties to develop and implement corporate facilities projects and program requirements.
Manage financial budgets and track costs as they are incurred throughout the project lifecycle. Provide accurate and timely cost and schedule tracking to all project stakeholders. Prepare spending forecasts, establish budgets, approve invoices, and manage change orders.
On occasion, conduct major facility studies covering such recurring subjects as five (5) year plans, total energy generation, facility containment/contingency programs, building management systems, major material and vendor studies, etc.
Assure Company compliance with all federal, state and applicable local codes such as Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), etc.
Provide an interface with external suppliers and contractors in order to assure acceptable, cost-effective and schedule minded construction programs.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in electrical.
2-4 years of project management experience and or related experience in facilities management/operations.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, Power Point
Working knowledge of building infrastructure and support systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical distribution, and fire protection systems.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Experience with project management software solutions, specifically ones tailored to construction management.
Experience with construction and renovation projects within the aerospace and defense industry requiring adherence to specific ICDs and DoD construction standards.
Proficiency with construction design software solutions such as AutoCAD, Revit, and BlueBeam Revu and electrical software such as SKM Powertools
Working knowledge and understanding of building codes, specifically as they relate to the NEC, NFPA, and all state and federal regulations.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $100680 - $171120
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
