JOB PURPOSE AND IMPACT
The Consumer Insights Manager – Growth Businesses , as a subject matter expert, will independently plan, direct, control, conduct and analyze consumer-oriented market research activities to understand potential customers and markets for our products. We seek a knowledgeable, multifaceted professional who will lead with consumer insights to develop consumer-oriented innovation and help us show up as a value-added partner to our customers.
This position will be the insights lead for alternative protein and seafood, two growth areas within Cargill Protein North America. In addition, this position will take on certain insights responsibilities within our retail channel.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Independently analyze and communicate research recommendations for product preferences, customer opportunities, market penetration, market practices, and sales trends.
Independently lead research consultation, direction, project planning, and implementation to deliver consumer and shopper insights to our customers across multiple channels
Monitor market conditions, trends, competitors, etc. to identify threats and opportunities
Collect, analyze, and interpret marketplace trends and consumer learning to independently create marketing and product development strategies.
Provide expert thought leadership in your field and work with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems. You may provide direction to supporting team members and be a strategic contributor.
Lead custom, primary research to develop insight-based ideas from idea generation through product development

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Minimum of six years of experience in market research, consumer insights, or related field
Comfortable leading and interpreting qualitative and quantitative research
Strong problem-solving, communication, and influence skills
Results-oriented, innovative, creative, and comfortable being an individual contributor
Must be curious – have a desire to understand the ‘why’ and dig into the data
Ability to ‘connect the dots’ from varying sources and synthesize into a compelling story
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s Degree in Marketing Research (or related) or MBA
Experience in a shopper insights role that involved direct interaction with Sales and customers
Experience with innovation and new product development
