Job Purpose and Impact

The Food Safety Quality and Regulatory Global Edible Oils Solutions Contaminants Program Leader will play a key role in developing, coordinating, and implementing projects associated with contaminant management in our facilities across the globe to meet the business’ strategic goals and our customers’ requirements. In this role, you will prioritize resources, measure progress and drive accountability in the business while providing cross functional leadership to a working group of practitioners to implement change and ensure execution of enabling processes. Global Edible Oils Solutions (GEOS) is strengthening its contaminant management programs. This is done in close collaboration between Commercial, Supply Chain, R&D, FSQR, Manufacturing Technology and Operations functions. This role is the critical Food Safety Quality and Regulatory representative within these contaminant management programs.

Key Accountabilities

  • Collaborate with key functions like Commercial, OPS, R&D and Manufacturing Technology to define program objectives to shape the roadmap of initiatives around contaminant management and prioritize based on strategic, financial, and organizational criteria, driving action to ensure established goals are met.

  • Collaborate with the business leadership and various commercial and finance teams to define program objectives that shape the roadmap of transformation initiatives and prioritize the same based on strategic, financial and organizational criteria, driving action to ensure established goals are met.

  • Champion change and look to improve analytics, processes, data capture, and performance by systematizing simplicity, agility and sensible risk taking.

  • Understand strategy and supporting projects in order to recommend resource prioritization that advances the business to meet performance goals and grow.

  • Facilitate strategic prioritization reviews with key functions, ensuring tradeoffs around contaminant management are understood and appropriate decisions are made.

  • This role is key in understanding and articulating the food safety, quality and regulatory impact of project initiatives on supply reliability, capital and operational expenditure, and operational discipline at our GEOS facilities.

  • Manage and participate in cross functional project reviews, linking project execution and financial results to functional budget and overall earnings forecasts.

  • Deploy continuous improvement of portfolio and projects management in alignment with company standard framework and guidelines.

  • Provide mentorship, coaching and development for team members as appropriate.

  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience

  • 4+ years of experience with – and knowledge of – edible oils and fats manufacturing technology and process analytics.

  • Minimum of four years of related work experience

  • Minimum of 25%-35% international travel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of eight years of related work experience

  • 4+ years in project and capital project delivery processes.

  • Experience with – and knowledge of – the main analytical methods used in edible oil quality assurance.

  • Experience with Statistical Process Control and modern process effectiveness assessments

  • Understanding of Cargill’s Food Safety and Quality Assurance systems and programs.

  • Proven strong communication skills

  • Ability to represent the FSQR discipline in multi-disciplinary teams related to product quality and contaminant management.

  • Experience planning, monitoring and managing internal projects from initiation through completion.
