Job Purpose and Impact
The Portfolio Lead Engineer will lead a team of project engineers who design and lead the execution of safe, regulatory compliant and competitive build capital projects that are operationally efficient, reliable and operate right the first time. In this role, you will oversee the conceptual, detailed engineering design over the entire timeframe of a portfolio of projects. You will oversee the technical engineering and design of highly complex build projects including providing direction to external engineering firms, incorporating external and internal design standards and requirements, collaborating across engineering disciplines in the development and completion of engineering deliverables, development and tracking of the engineering schedule and engineering cost estimates.
Key Accountabilities
Responsible for the execution of the engineering strategy in coordination with project leaders.
Develop engineering design packages and develop a design that is in compliance with regulatory codes and meets engineering standards and manufacturing technology needs.
Develop the engineering scope of work to execute project objectives, selecting and directing the external engineering service provider.
Lead the development and execution of the engineering estimate and track the engineering progress against estimates.
Direct the activities for other engineers that are supporting the development of the engineering design on projects.
Coordinate input from engineering disciplines and domain experts to ensure engineering designs meet the specific needs of the business.
Identify, document and communicate lessons learned to appropriate stakeholders and partner collaboratively with regional and global leadership to identify and develop enhancements to engineering work processes.
Develop plans and deliver results in a fast-changing business or regulatory environment, while leading and developing a team of experienced professionals and supervisors, coaching and making decisions related to talent management hiring, performance and disciplinary actions. You will also collaborate with managers and supervisors in your organization to ensure staff selections align with current and future needs.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Experience with capital planning portfolio management
Experience with gap assessment and solution identification
Minimum of six years of related work experience
Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
Preferred Qualifications
Three years of supervisory experience
PMP Certification
Lean six sigma
