Job Purpose and Impact

Cargill Risk Management, a Cargill business group, is a pioneer and leader in providing commodity price risk management solutions. At its core, Cargill Risk Management is about working with customers to understand their commodity exposure and structure risk management (over the counter) strategies to meet their needs. Headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Cargill Risk Management has offices in 14 countries. Cargill Risk Management is looking for a Senior Director for derivatives sales.

The Senior Director will be part of the Dairy and Livestock product line, focusing on US markets and based in Minneapolis. This individual will be responsible to develop new markets and new customers in the US. This is a challenging and exciting opportunity to serve customers in a complex regulated environment, delivering risk management solutions in multiple commodities that requires high degree of technical skills, disciplined approach to execution, and the right behaviors to build strong partnerships internally and externally.

Key Accountabilities

  • Help develop and implement strategies focused on growing client base within defined market segments.

  • Implement processes to produce new account revenue aligned with current organization and individual targets and quotas.

  • Collaborate on complex accounts, products and services, sales or account management process.

  • Deliver high quality customer service and resolve issues quickly to retain current clients.

  • Plan and implement sales to our major accounts where cultivating relationships, identifying opportunities and account management skills are key.

  • Provide expert thought leadership in your field and work with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems. You may provide direction to supporting team members and be a strategic contributor.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 6 years of customer-facing experience marketing derivatives, across multiple commodities.

  • Ability to execute with accuracy and diligence in a regulated environment.

  • Strong business acumen and ability to build relationships in multiple levels of an organization.

  • Willingness to travel 50% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years’ of relevant experience.

  • Experience in commodities financing.

  • Advanced degree in Finance, Economics, or other technical areas.

  • Strong mathematical skills, and financial technical skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

  • Credit assessment, contract negotiation, market risk assessment in commodity markets.

  • Strong business acumen and ability to build relationships in multiple levels of an organization.
