DuPont is seeking a Quality & EHS Manager for our West Alexandria, OH site.
The Quality and EH&S Manager at the DuPont West Alexandria, OH site will serve as the "compliance" manager for the plant, insuring all Environmental, Health, Safety, and Quality requirements are met. The role has primary responsibility for managing the site’s quality system (ISO 9001:2015). The role is also responsible for customer interaction (complaint investigations and response), data collection and reporting (daily/monthly/quarterly), and SAP transactions. This individual also oversees the QA lab (training lab techs, scheduling routine equipment maintenance, maintaining lab supplies, continuous improvement). They may also serve as a back-up lab tech, if necessary.
Experience with quality-related systems is required. Previous experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety is not required, only a willingness to learn.
This role will manage the site's Health & Safety technician and will be the focal point for the Environmental consultant that supports the site.
As part of their oversight responsibility, this position is a People Leader, leading a group of 4 technicians responsible for Quality Control, Health & Safety, Training, and Document Control. They will be responsible for goal setting, reviewing progress against goals, providing feedback and coaching, and completing performance management tasks. This individual also participates in regular plant activities, the same as other salaried, Day Staff employees.
Responsibilities include:
Own & maintain quality manual and quality policy, insure adherence to ISO9001 standard
Coordinate and lead internal and external ISO audits
Lead annual Management Review process
Primary focal point/site contact with Customers, Account Managers, Customer Service Reps., R&D, and the Global Business Quality function with respect to product quality & quality issues
Lead investigations for quality complaints
Gather and report quality metrics
Routine use of SAP – Inspection plans and inspection lots, CoA data entry, lot determination, product release, offgrade disposition
Maintenance on QA instruments: Troubleshooting, coordinate routine or unplanned maintenance
Update Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
Maintain certification/competence in all QA methods
Insure compliance with OSHA and corporate safety standards
Conduct or oversee safety standard gap assessments, action plan development, and completion of gap closures to timelines.
Manage environmental consultant to insure EPA required documents are filed before reporting deadlines.
Performance Management for a team of 4 non-exempt employees
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering discipline
Experience with quality management systems compliant with ISO9001:2015 International Standard
Delivers clear and succinct oral and written messages and able to make complex messages clear both internally and to our customer.
Demonstrated ability to understand, calculate, establish, and communicate key quality metrics including complaints, complaint frequency, cycle time & audit results.
Demonstrated experience in auditing, carrying out root cause failure analysis and identifying critical corrective and preventive actions and driving to closure.
Excellent MS Office Skill (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Ability to hold self and others accountable to meet commitments.
Strong influence management, leadership skills and people/team development skills
High-level proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking in English language.
Authorized to work in the United States. This position will be based on-site at the West Alexandria, OH facility.
Preferred Qualifications:
Six Sigma certification is preferred
Internal Auditor experience/certification is preferred
Previous management/supervisory experience is preferred.
SAP experience is preferred
Experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
