Medical Devices, a division of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) Product Line Owner. This position can be located at any J&J operating site; however, a strong preference will be given to those located Cincinnati, OH, West Chester, PA, Warsaw, IN and Raritan, NJ. As the Senior Manager of the Scan2Health Program, your work will have a tremendous impact in the development of digital applications that will drastically improve the experience for surgeons, sales, manufacturers, and internal R&D teams in delivering patient specific products.

Your Role

  • Responsible for IT delivery of GxP solutions for patient specific products (new and sustaining)

  • Manage and organize project teams to ensure requirements, designs and project objectives are met within expected timelines and budget Deliver/manage projects and IT deliverables to business expectations. Manage issues/risks to resolution

  • Work with partner groups to gain alignment & support to achieve project objectives. Partner with product teams to onboard and sustain their products on the platforms. Interact routinely with business leaders.

  • Understand the end-to-end process for the systems related to new product development and process engineering of these businesses.

  • Responsible for planning of Platform costs and alignment with the business; ensure business plans for IT operating costs; communicates changes and strives for cost containment/improvements

  • Develop and manage Scan2Health and Service Request System application roadmaps. Provide leadership to cross-functional teams in executing project objectives against the business roadmap.

  • Manage employees and contractors. Mentor and provide constructive feedback & coaching to team members & support personnel to assist in skills development.

  • Defines and executes continuous improvements to program and operating governance models

  • Ensure projects are executed in compliance with J&J policy & procedure requirements. Partner with compliance colleagues to keep the platform safe and Johnson & Johnson compliant.

  • Capture & disseminate knowledge acquired during projects to improve development processes & systems.

  • Provide direct communication to management on progress, opportunities & issues. Obtain resources from functional organizations, support groups & outside sources to ensure project success

  • Works with Technology Services and Application Maintenance organizations in support of GxP solutions


  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science, engineering or a related technology field or 8+ years of practical work experience in IT

  • A minimum of 5 years of program management experience; direct association with or leading efforts to develop complex programs

  • Track record of successfully managing GxP projects

  • Experience delivering IT projects utilizing the Agile SCRUM methodology and IT SDLC

  • Experience creating processes and documenting requirements

  • R&D IT mindset/culture; The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial mindset, excellent communication skills, and comfortable adapting communications to the appropriate audience (e.g.: executive management, software developers, etc.)

  • 5+ years people management is highly desired

  • Experience leading and growing leaders as project/program managers and business analysts

    PMP, CSM, and SAFe certification preferred

This role may require up to 15% travel, domestic and international
