The Senior Manager, Sub-Category Lead (MedTech DPM Chemicals and Resins) will be responsible for leading a Procurement organization in support of approximately $200 million in spend for the MedTech sector of Johnson & Johnson Companies. This spend is high complexity in nature and requires a collaboration with key stakeholders within the business to execute. This individual will identify, develop and direct the implementation of Procurement goals and strategies. He/She will plan and direct the organization’s activities and deliver against targets for financial performance, quality, service and compliance adherence. They will provide global leadership for developing end-to-end sub-category leadership such as category strategy development, fostering key relationships within the Business and managing key supplier relationships. The position must shape, connect and lead resources to deliver on key strategies, priorities and projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and drive the Procurement vision for, with and through the stakeholder community.

  • Develop the vision, strategy and implementation plan for the assigned MedTech Chemicals and Resin spend that will effectively meet the long-range requirements of the business partners and deliver the maximum value for J&J

  • Interface directly with CEO’s and other supplier leadership to assure alignment of JNJ’s objectives are met, including quality, reliability, innovation and cost.

  • Understand operational considerations. Identifies business demand requirements and partners with Business Unit Procurement Leaders to deliver annual value improvements and drives competitive advantage.

  • Understand long range requirements of the business partners and engage in strategic planning and partnering to ensure alignment

  • Deliver on financial, service, reliability, quality, innovation, and growth commitments

  • Build and maintain relationships throughout JNJ that results in dynamic interactive dialogue on a broad range of perspectives and information critical to the development of optimal approaches and solutions for the Category

  • Develop deep supplier relationships with strategic suppliers to include performance management and development, improvement of end-to-end value and delivery of innovation to the Business

  • Identify, develop and direct the implementation of Procurements goals and category strategies, based on deep subject matter expertise and a strong understanding of industry/market dynamics

  • Escalate issues that may impact the Global Procurement organization

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum Bachelors degree required. Higher Degree is preferred.

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience.

  • Deep strategic procurement experience, and a broad-based understanding of supply-chain and business operations and processes.

  • At least 5 years of proven people management and development skills.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Preferred:

  • Experience in supply-chain or procurement with proven ability to manage complex procurement categories and to drive strong, tangible results while managing supply risks in a compelling manner.

  • Knowledge of Chemicals or related type of industries.

Other:

  • Strong leadership, clear communication, strong influencing & collaboration skills will be crucial to deliver successfully in the role

  • Ability to build sound, fact-based recommendations that are compelling and provides the right motivation for action

  • Clarity in terms of thought and strong critical reasoning skills to enable meaningful discussions with internal stakeholders and suppliers

  • Strong verbal and written communication skill with ability to confidently present complex information

  • Ability to go beyond the day-to-day operational cycle of purchasing and truly approaching procurement in a strategic and intelligent manner

  • Business-focused and oriented, and being able to translate business needs into tangible procurement goals and strategies

  • Excellent ability to synthesize large amount of data to draw meaningful insights and to drive valuable discussions with internal stakeholders and suppliers

  • This position may require up to 25% domestic and/or international travel is required.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $118,000 to $203,550.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

  • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year of Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
