Job Description

Our Clinical Research and Pharmacovigilance team push the boundaries of global healthcare through research and innovation. Through clinical trials and surveillance, we ensure the safety and efficacy of our existing and pipeline products to produce safe, effective, innovative medicine.

The Discovery, Preclinical and Translational Medicine (DPTM) Department in West Point Pennsylvania has an opening for a postdoctoral fellow with outstanding skills to build analytical capabilities for enhancing the science of pharmacokinetics (PK) and pharmacodynamics (PD). The incumbent will join a dynamic bioanalytical group, work closely with our PK and PD investigators and also data scientists to study the roles of endogenous molecules including proteins, RNAs, metabolites/lipids in our drug discovery models.


  1. Interact with multidisciplinary collaborators and solicit input from PK/PD and drug metabolism/disposition perspectives to shape and execute bioanalytical experiments. This includes but not limited to:
  • Develop novel sample preparation methods to enable successful detection and quantification of modality independent endogenous molecules in biological samples.

  • Analyze samples using a variety of state of the art analytical instruments including mass spectrometers.

  • Collaborate with our Company's other capability groups and external labs as needed to deliver impactful data.

  • Develop and apply novel data analysis workflows as needed.

  1. Conduct hypotheses-driven experiments and progress continuously.

  2. Prepare manuscripts and scientific presentations for novel findings.

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Candidates must currently hold a PhD OR be receiving a PhD in either: chemistry, analytical chemistry, biology, molecular biology and/or pharmaceutical sciences.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Demonstrate establishments in advancing bioanalytical technologies and workflows including but not limited to developing novel bioanalytical platforms, establishing innovative and rugged methods to measure proteins, RNAs and/or metabolites/lipids from cells, blood and tissues.

  • Demonstrate mature lab skills and strong interests in lab based analytical work.

  • Proven record of innovation with publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations in leading scientific conferences.

  • Sound skills in big data processing and visualization.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to excel in a team-interactive environment.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Experiences and strong interests in multi-omics approach with proficiency in bioinformatic software packages.

  • Experiences in working with extracellular vesicles such as exosomes.

  • Molecular biology experiences such as ELISA, PCR and reagent preparation skills.

  • Collaborative experiences and network with academia, industry or research institutions.
