Job Description

Our Sourcing team partners with the business to ensure efficient acquisition of goods and services that enables the commercialization of our medicines, vaccines and Animal Health products. We collaborate internationally and are grouped into center-led categories and regional operating teams.

We are seeking a talented person with a keen interest in sourcing to join our Global Site Services Procurement team as a Specialist. This position will play a key role in supporting the full Site Services function within a dynamic and fast-paced environment at a leading pharmaceutical company.

This Procurement Specialist role will be a member of the Global Site Services Procurement Team, a team of 12 procurement professionals based in various countries around the world, which is part of the Global Supplier Management Group. Scope managed by the Global Site Services Procurement team includes the Integrated Facility Management (IFM) Program for all company facilities worldwide, the MRO Integrator Program for manufacturing facilities (spare parts used in maintenance and operation activities and stores management), various programs and sourcing initiatives (primarily global or regional) for site services (real estate services, environmental services, industrial hygiene services, waste management, food services, furniture, archiving, office supplies, industrial gases, etc.). The Procurement Specialist will work closely with Site Services Category Leads and key stakeholders from the facilities management and engineering organizations (Global Workplace & Enterprise Services and the company's Manufacturing Division) to manage existing programs and develop and execute sourcing strategies and initiatives. The Procurement Specialist will oversee own sub-categories and provides data analytics, program governance, and Suppliers Performance Management support to Site Services Category Leads.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the categorization of spending and the development of sourcing strategies for specific sub-categories.

  • Gather, cleanse, validate and analyze data related to spend, savings, performance metrics, customer surveys, etc.

  • Collaborate with the Data Analytics team and the Digitalization team to extract data from the various sources across the company and suppliers, improving data accessibility.

  • Create visualizations, including dashboards, to make data easily interpretable and communicable, enabling Site Services Category Leads, key stakeholders and suppliers to make informed decisions for improvements.

  • Assist in the development, management, and continuous improvement of governance processes and Supplier Performance Management. This includes establishing key performance indicators & scorecards, issue management, escalation processes, and collaborating in supplier management activities with business stakeholders.

  • Support project management activities, including managing project plans, tracking and following up on actions, and serving as a Program Manager for the Site Services Procurement team by monitoring actions and priorities.

  • Assist the Site Services team in various category and sourcing activities such as benchmarking, collecting market intelligence, conducting sourcing events (RFI’s, RFP’s), supporting negotiations of commercial and legal contract terms and conditions, conducting pricing analysis, and managing contract administration.

  • Advocate for diversity and inclusion within the procurement processes and activities.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Required education, experience and skills:

  • 2+ years of demonstrable work experience in sourcing, supplier management, facilities management, managing projects, or engineering within the bio/pharma sector.

  • Proven ability to work autonomously and thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment, showcasing self-directed initiative and the capability to navigate complex technical challenges independently.

  • Willingness to find answers to challenges on their own, and through connectivity with internal and external collaborative outlets.

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel (pivot tables, charts) and PowerPoint.

  • Cultural awareness and the proven ability to work effectively within international, often remote, teams, embracing diverse perspectives and fostering collaborative working relationships.

  • Demonstrate capacity to prioritize and efficiently manage multiple concurrent activities, ensuring effective delivery within established timelines.

  • A proactive approach to learning, displaying an eagerness to explore and experiment with new methods, emerging software techniques, and technological advancements in the field.

  • Strong written communication skills with proficiency in English, enabling effective and articulate communication in both written and verbal forms.

Preferred experience and skills:

  • International experience, with a proven track record of thriving in a global environment.

  • Proven proficiency in utilizing a diverse range of tools to extract, analyze, and visualize data, with expertise in platforms such as SQL, MongoDB, Spotfire, R, Python, Tableau, and/or Power-BI, showcasing the ability to derive actionable insights.

  • Practical experience in the utilization and/or development of Business Intelligence digital visualization and analytics tools to enhance operational efficiencies and inform strategic decision-making.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Hands-on familiarity with Ariba and/or analogous sourcing and purchasing systems, demonstrating the ability to leverage these technologies effectively within a procurement and supplier management context.

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

Expected US salary range:

$75,400.00 - $118,700.00
