The position of Senior Manager Technical Manufacturing is within our Infectious Disease – Lateral Flow business unit located in Scarborough and Westbrook, Maine . In this role you will manages the day-to-day functions of Technical Manufacturing Lab (TM) for LF and ELISA (or similar) Products or Molecular Products. Ensures production schedule is maintained by ensuring the lab hits commitments in supplying critical reagents, solutions, in process testing, and other daily tasks required to hit the production build plan. Ensuring accurate and adequate inventory. Designs and manages short and long-term product improvement projects when needed. Coordinates with R&D on technical transfers when needed. Provides technical knowledge to other areas of the Company when needed. Manages TM process improvement projects along with technical or performance validations aspects of vendor qualification projects. May be SME on critical reagents, TM processes, and products. Complies with all Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.

SCHEDULE: Day Shift Monday-Friday:

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Ensures the department consistently delivers high quality reagents to meet the production plan.

  • Creates and designs experiments for presentation to management for cost savings and product/process improvement and vendor qualification.

  • Executes project plans by collecting data, troubleshooting, summarizing results and presenting to management.

  • Maintains good manufacturing practices within the department and ensures adherence to Company specifications, SOP’s and policies; along with regulations set forth by governing regulatory agencies.

  • Provides support to planning, purchasing, and inventory control as needed.

  • Maintains department by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees.

  • Maintains safe and cohesive work environment.

  • Provides personal growth opportunities to employees.

  • Orchestrates staff results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating and enforcing Company policies and procedures.

  • Provides technical support to other departments, product and process troubleshooting, as well as for OEM customers as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Manages subordinate supervisors and/or employees in the Technical Manufacturing Lab. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Required

  • Master’s Bachelor's degree (MA or MSBA or BS) in biology, immunology, or chemistry or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years laboratory experience with critical reagents used in diagnostics.

  • Broad and in-depth knowledge of the technical aspects of immunodiagnostics.

  • Comprehensive understanding of the procedures, processes, records, software systems and infrastructure of the operations department.

  • Knowledge of Accounting software; Database software; Internet software; Payroll systems; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

  • Ability to travel from time to time

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • PhD’s degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences, or related field

  • 10 years hands on experience with chromatography Familiarity with national and international testing standards related to mechanical and chemical testing.

The base pay for this position is $125,300.00 – $250,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
