Job Duties:

Primary Purpose of Position:

  • Liaison between internal customers (HR, Benefits, Retirement Programs, etc), ADP and third party vendors to ensure the systems used by the GBS team are configured to match the requirements of these stakeholders and fully implemented.

  • Provides support and performs administrative functions for Ball’s defined contribution plans in the U.S. and Canada within plan and regulatory guidelines to ensure compliance with government regulations.

  • Provides support for maintenance of plan documentation and serves as liaison with record keeper, payroll, and HRIS.

  • Supports administration of Ball’s benefits committees, records management and retention, and other various administrative tasks.

Essential Functions:

  1. System project lead for benefits projects & 401(k) administration.
  • System project lead for payroll on GBS and or Benefit projects (i.e.: Annual Benefits Enrollment, 401(k) updates, HR policy changes affecting GBS system requirements, Payroll Year-End activities, etc.)

  • Reviews business requirements and translates them into systems requirements to ensure that data integrity is maintained; works with third party vendors as well as ITS & HRIS when needed to configure system requirements.

  • Ensures requirements are documented, reviewed and approved for projects; ensures documents (functional specifications and standard operating procedures) are updated as changes are made; maintains documents in central filing location.

  • Reviews and analyze data from the systems used by the GBS team to ensure data included in these systems are accurate.

  • Provides support for programming 401(k) nondiscrimination testing and true-ups.

  • Provides support in the consolidation of retirement & benefit plans

  • Evaluates areas to streamline processes with third-party vendors and provides leadership in making those changes with the vendors

  • Memorializing system interactions (GPS, ADP Globalview, Willis Towers Watson (Health and Welfare, Pension), Vanguard) so all Ball Departments can fully understand how the different systems impacted interact with one another.

  • Work with ITS, HRIS & our third-party providers to provide transparency within our various interfaces that support the processing of payroll.

  1. Handles routine 401(k) benefits administration.
  • Facilitates data exchange between HRIS and vendors. Runs HRIS extracts and reports for all 401(k) plans. Partner with ITS to determine if it makes sense to automate the process as well as to ensure ITS has an understanding of what data is being manually sent from what system to various target systems.

  • Communicates with 401(k) record keeper regarding policies, plan administration, and participant transactions.

  • Obtains and provides 401(k) statements for selected executives and insider trading reports to Executive Compensation department.

  • Assists with completion of IRS Form 5500, Summary Plan Descriptions, annual plan audits, and other regulatory reporting.

Position Requirements:

  • Broad training in a related field usually acquired through college level education or work-related experience

  • Job related experience for 2-4 year(s) minimum in the area of employee benefits and related administration systems.

  • IT skills: Strong Microsoft Office capabilities especially Microsoft Excel. Experience with HRIS systems and report writing.

  • Ability to write, speak and clearly present complex ideas

  • Ability to work with large amounts of data, facts, figures and number crunching to analyze and find a conclusion; Adept at solving complicated technical problems

  • A strong understanding of standard testing methodologies and ability to follow a line of investigation to find, solve and evaluate the performance of systems used by GBS

  • A strong understanding of Payroll, Benefit and Retirement plan programs and how data flows between systems/vendors

  • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.

  • Ability to influence others to a common conclusion

  • Must be professional, detail oriented, results driven individual with excellent customer service skills

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Significant focus on continuous improvement opportunities

  • < 5% of travel
