Working as a Program Control Analyst Principal at BAE Systems SMS is an exciting opportunity to become part of a high-tech team of people developing innovative products for the Aerospace and Defense industry. You will be responsible for cost and schedule integration on programs in the Tactical Solutions Business Area here at BAE Systems SMS.
The role must show expertise and mastery of Earned Value Management with responsibility for leading a recently awarded Tier I program team with adherence to the BAE Systems SMS EVM System Description and the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR). This person will also help foster innovative approaches within Program Controls in support of procedures and policies.
The Finance Strategic Capabilities Unit delivers the expertise and business acumen to increase value across the enterprise by providing actionable information with recommendations and opportunities to drive sustainable business growth.
What You ll Do:
Perform principles, concepts, practices and standards in accordance with the policies and procedures related to Project Controls.
Baseline Maintenance
Work Authorization (WA) review
Contract Reconciliation
Statement of Work (SOW) deliverables and requirements analysis related to cost and schedule
Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and WBS Dictionary development and maintenance
Organizational Breakdown Structures (OBS) guidance
Budget and funding profile development
Direct labor and indirect rate application and analysis
Resource planning and communication
Subcontract/material cost and schedule analysis
Risk assessment and analysis
Performance Management
Earned Value System Description application
Earned Value Management Systems architecture development, implementation and maintenance
Integrated Master Plan/Integrated Master Schedule development and analysis
Earned Value variance, trend and what-if analysis
Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs) preparation and execution
Contract change monitoring and implementation
Risk assessment and analysis
Lessons learned documentation, assessment and implementation
EAC Development
EAC development and analysis.
Fee accrual profitability analysis and recommendation.
Sales forecast development and analysis across program portfolio
Risk assessment and analysis
Rate analysis
Closeout
WBS closure and reconciliation
Closeout document preparation and reporting
Task and guide junior-level administrators/analysts assigned to program.
Ensure that programs are compliant with regulatory requirements and conducted in accordance with BAE Systems best practices.
Expert in management of programs including Earned Value Management.
Ensure responsibility for the business aspects of programs.
Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
Perform other duties as necessary.
On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
BS/BA in a related field plus 6 or more years related experience.
Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
Solid knowledge and proven experience in utilizing business principles, concepts, practices, and standards.
Solid communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work in a team setting, coordinating group initiatives in order to bring a project to completion.
Have a positive attitude and willingness to take initiative.
Solid MS Excel skills, along with other MS Office Products.
Experience with Earned Value Management including implementation, maintenance, reporting and analysis.
Understanding of typical Program Controls requirements and processes.
Solid business acumen and experience with DoD contracting.
A security clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position. However, the applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $99410 - $168997
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
