Fabricator Plastic 3- 6th shift
To fabricate a variety of production parts. May be required to work under the guidance of higher grade operators.
I. Works from shop routings, oral and written instructions and established shop practices to plan and perform fabrication sequences from plastic and/or fiberglass parts.
a. Operates power equipment such as saws, routers, sanders, drills and buffers.
b. Examines parts for defects such as scratches, cracks and bubbles.
II. Uses simple hand tools and some measuring instruments such as a scale, micrometer, and caliper.
III. Maintains shop records and assures production parts are fabricated according to production schedules.
IV. Assures adequate supply of bonding agents, plastic and/or fiberglass parts and other required production items by notifying supervision when reorder is necessary.
V. Maintains visual attention during fabrication process to assure conformity to standard shop practices and comply with standard safety precautions to prevent accidents.
VI. Responsible only for own work.
VII. Performs other related duties as required.
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent to interpret simple drawings, apply simple arithmetic and use some measuring instruments.
Requires a minimum of three (3) months plastic and/or fiberglass forming and finishing experience.
Somewhat disagreeable working conditions due to intermittent exposure to heat, fumes and dust.
