Position purpose

This role is part of the Carrier Support Services COE (i.e., freight audit & payment and transportation data maintenance) located in Wichita, KS. The candidate for this role will be the subject matter expert for an assigned, specific area within the Carrier Support Services space. This will include deep knowledge of related systems and processes as well as the compliance activities governing the area. The candidate will work independently, as well as part of a team, to ensure systems and interfaces are functioning properly, that all stake holders have a clear understanding of processes and how their actions impact overall success. The candidate will develop and/or monitor metrics ensuring overall process health. This role will provide daily support to carriers, clients and team members (including those located in CBS sites outside the US) to resolve issues and ensure processes are effective and efficient. The person in this role will collaborate with others to develop process improvements and implement best practices.

Principal accountabilities:

50% Subject Matter Expert for specific processes within the CTL Carrier Support Services COE. Provide daily support to transportation team members in CBS sites, carriers, clients and others to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues. Ensure master data is accurate and updated timely.

30% Work with BUs and transportation teams to evaluate opportunities, implement improvements, and stream-line processes. Share system and process knowledge with others to ensure overall success, effectiveness and efficiency of processes. Benchmark to the outside – Implement best practices.

10% Work with Global I/T, other CTL teams, CBS Sites and Clients to ensure full utilization of system functionality (including testing new functionality, system improvements, and break/fix items).

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably Accounting, Finance or Business) or 5 years of relevant experience.

  • 1-2 years’ work experience in one of the following: G/L Accounting, Freight Payables, Carrier Compliance, Master Data Mgmt, Transportation Accounting, Transportation Operations, Customer Service, Vendor Support

  • Working experience of payment control processes, internal controls, and segregation of duties

  • Working experience in Microsoft Office – Excel (advanced level), Word, Outlook

  • SAP / JDE / AS400 experience
