The DuPont company has a leadership opportunity in Wilmington, DE. The role is within the Facilities Services and Real Estate team and reports to the Experimental Station site leader. The Experimental Station is a cornerstone research and innovation center at DuPont – the campus is comprised of 43 office, lab, and process buildings; accommodations include a café and catering, conferencing spaces, auditorium, fitness center, and more.

The Contract Administration (CA) Manager is the Site CA for the Wilmington sites (Experimental Station and Chestnut Run) and accountable for ensuring the site contract administration process follows corporate standards and internal control requirements and is adopted for all contracted work on both sites. The program specifies requirements for all aspects of contracted work from supplier selection through work execution, supplier evaluation, and job closure. The CA manager has functional responsibility for CAs and FCAs (nine direct reports) and ensures the CA organization is adequately staffed and trained to execute the program.

The position is also responsible for the site services strategy. Operations and service categories include: food services (kitchen & catering) – shipping, receiving, distribution – fire and life safety – maintenance and remediation (building structure, architectural, building utilities) – AV technology – roads and grounds (landscaping and maintenance) – waste management (hazardous and non-hazardous) – security (patrol and systems) – research support – research materials & suppliers – janitorial – powerhouse/central utility plant.

Role Responsibilities

  • Accountable for felt leadership, operational discipline, and adherence to EHS procedures within contract administration.

  • Designated “Site CA“ accountable for management of the CA program and processes, metrics, governing documents.

  • Manage the CA program through continuous review and improvement.

  • Update required CA documents annually: contracting strategy, contract administration procedure, EHS CA Plan, CA Playbook.

  • Accountable for ensuring all CA’s and FCA’s have the appropriate level of training and understanding of role responsibilities, with a focus on EHS policies.

  • Ensure all site personnel understand and adhere to site contract administration procedures and processes.

  • Collaborate with the capital team to ensure CA programs meet capital needs and capital teams adhere to all CA management requirements and processes.

  • Develop and deploy the business strategy and direction for contracted services and operations: balance site strategy, customer satisfaction, and business climate.

  • Manage the budget for contracted services at both sites.

  • Work with team to identify and drive improvements with suppliers.

  • Accountable for contractor incident, injury/illness events.

  • Accountable for resolving invoicing and payment issues for both Wilmington sites.

  • Collaborate with and build relationships with peers to develop effective balanced solutions to site problems and improvement opportunities. Peers include engineering manager, capital managers and project leaders, maintenance manager, EHS manager, procurement leaders, security leader, construction manager, etc.

  • Lead the Contractor Engagement team and quarterly contractor safety meetings to communicate key learnings and expectations to contractor community.

  • Key contact for site relationship with procurement.

  • Participate on site Emergency Management Team.

  • Develop team’s annual strategy and goals.

  • Focus on development and growth of direct reports.

  • Evolve team’s organizational structure and responsibilities as individuals grow.

Experience

We are looking for candidates with 3+ similar experiences in their career history; not all are required to be the successful candidate.

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management (project management, supply chain, operations, management, hospitality, etc.)

  • 2+ years in a people leadership role

  • 2+ years’ experience in contract administration

  • 2+ years’ experience in supply chain

  • 2+ years’ experience in a role managing a budget and making business decisions based on market and business strategy

  • 3+ years’ experience in facilities operations

  • 3+ years’ experience in manufacturing operations

  • 3+ years’ experience in engineering

  • 3+ years’ experience in maintenance or construction

  • Familiarity with building utility equipment, building and grounds maintenance, research operations, and/or facilities service offerings a plus.
