Data Scientist- Safety and Construction (Job Number: 213179W-01)
DuPont is seeking highly motivated Data Scientist to join a new but fast-growing data science team in the Safety & Construction division, DuPont’s largest division by sales. The Safety & Construction division develops innovative products in essential markets such as water purification, green buildings, and personal protection (e.g. Tyvek® protective suits, Kevlar® ballistic vests). As part of this team you will have a high impact on a strategic digital transformation initiative with opportunities for leadership and advancement as the team grows.
THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role you will drive a wide variety of data science projects ranging from business optimization (pricing, marketing, sales, etc), supply chain & manufacturing (e.g. yield optimization, predictive maintenance, industry 4.0), and product development (e.g. IoT, autonomous systems). You will work collaboratively with business and technical partners to rapidly advance projects from ambiguously-defined ideas to value-creating solutions in production. The ideal candidate will be highly versatile and willing to take on different roles as required to deliver a solution, including exploratory data analysis, data mining, data cleaning, and communication of results. The ideal candidate will be focused on achieving business objectives through data science, willing to pivot quickly from dead ends, and have strong collaboration & communication capabilities with non-technical business colleagues.
Your qualification profile:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a STEM, business analytics, Science, or related field.
2+ years relevant experience work is a Data Scientist type of role
Excellent communicator and collaborator; able to communicate clearly to influence decision making.
Strong experience manipulating & analyzing data in Python or R using packages such as Pandas, Numpy, and Matplotlib
Strong analytical mindset & ability to apply statistics
Experience with statistical analysis, ML, and AI in python (e.g. using packages such as SciPy, Scikit Learn, TensorFlow)
Experience using Microsoft Azure service platforms (e.g. Databricks, MLflow, etc)
Experience with manufacturing use cases such as process optimization and predictive maintenance
Experience with supply chain use cases such as demand forecasting, inventory management, and supply chain optimization
Experience with business use cases such as marketing analytics, pricing optimization
Experience with text analytics / natural language processing
